What makes you happy?

I like number 3 Emrys.

1. When I've done my job so by the book, precisely, cleanly and professionally that the scumbag I was investigating has no chance in hell of getting away with his heinous bullshit. This has only happened a few times, but every time it has filled me with a sense of satisfaction that I cannot replicate otherwise.

2. Twilight, the time of day not the shitty vampire stuff, in the summer. When the sun has just set, it's cooling off and everything is blue. It is the most comforting time of day for me. Perfect time to have a fire, some beers and some friends around, not to say much, just to sit there and enjoy the time.

3. Getting in a full sized, 2000 point game of 40K. Such a rarity to enjoy it.

4. Prime Rib, as rare as possible without being raw, smothered in salt, pepper, herbs, garlic, au jus and onions.

5. The thought of one day being a pilot which isn't a possibility anymore....still a man can dream.
I'm changing number 5 to be not having strokes. That makes me happy.

Welp, considering we're not allowed to duplicate and most of the things I enjoy are said already, I'm going with:

1: Playing and beating classic era games.
2: Teaching my kids how to play and beat classic era games.
3: Watching them beat a hard classic game with no help from me.
4: Enjoying playing current gen console games with them.
5: The entire family rocking out on Guitar Hero.

1. Riding my motorcycle with the wife wrapped around me
2. Jumping on the trampoline with my kids
3. Sleeping in!
4. Shooting my firearms
5. A particularly good stretch when just waking up

1.) Knowing my kids are going to turn into giant nerds, based on the nerdy things we can already do together (Playing Minecraft, downloading a custom Hogwarts map, and humming Hedwig's theme while we all run around it, as an example)

2.) Having my daughter cheer at the idea of going back to school after a long break, instead of complaining about it.

3.) Watching my 10 year old son kick his Grandpa's butt at chess, when I could never ever do that until well into high school.

4.) Finding a new cooking/baking/candy making recipe and having it turn out awesome! (Found an awesome sponge candy recipe that finally worked and didn't turn out awful 2 weeks ago yay!)

5.) The horrified looks my husband gets on his face before dinner when I tell him "I'm experimenting with dinner tonight."

Bonus answer: Knowing that my 7 year old daughter will totally cosplay with me once I get up the nerve to do it. (and have the time and money to make the thing I really want to make well)

I haven't read the other lists really, so sorry if there's repeats!

1) Introducing Jet to my nerdy hobbies. I asked him who he wanted to dress up for an upcoming con and he said he wanted to be America. I thought he meant Captain America so I bought him a shield but, nope.

It would have been much easier to do a Captain America out fit, actually....

2) Finishing something. ANything really. I'm such an easily distracted person that finishing anything pumps me up!

3) Drawing for hours. The longer, the better. It really cheers me up!

4) Being silly with like minded people. Tumblr and Omegle appears to be ideal for this.

5) Hanging out with my Sister. I know bitch about her a lot...but I love her, you know?

1. Writing ideas: Haven't done this in a while though. I got the block.

2. Criticizing things: I just love criticism, and I feel its underrated.

3. Beating something: Just a small sense of accomplishment that I like.

4. Making people laugh: I can't really explain why I just do.

5. Friends: I don't hang out with people that much being kind-of an introverted sort, but I do enjoy hanging out with people.

Actually attempting to adjust this so I'm not all 'wah wah need someone to make me happy'.

I'll keep you posted. Until then? Whiskey.

1. The end of a great work out, where you're drenched in sweat and exhausted, but feel energized.
2. My wife's nicknames for me.
3. Seeing one of my employees get recognized by someone else for doing a great job.
4. Hitting the snooze button 4 times before getting up.
5. Finding out my mom keeps every picture of me that is in the paper. Even if she'd never say "I'm proud of you" to my face, the fact that she keeps stuff like that means she is, just doesn't like saying it.

1. The feeling of fear I get before I jump out of a plane.
2. The brief moments in life when I am alone and I can just lay down and think.
3. Sunsets from 12,000ft agl.
4. Landing on target.
5. Waking up and seeing an 80+ on my sleep trend calculator.

lets try this:
1. Learning more about the whole of reality and how it works(I am an environmental scientist, the universe as a gigantic webbed system is like my favorite thing ever.)
2. Sleeping in my big comfy chair under a warm blanket
3. Watching anime and playing anything with my friends and cracking off comments.
4. hunting for rare anime(woooo its what I do on my days off from work, which are rare these days)
5. bringing joy to people who need it, I am not a happy person, I am the very grumpy cat, but when I see other people happy it makes me feel like maybe my existance is not a complete burden on the people who know me.

1) Getting a good grade on a paper I've worked particularly hard on.
2) Statistically significant results
3) Finally finding time to beat one of the literally hundreds of games I have sitting around the house and on my Steam account.
4) Cuddling up to my dog and watching a movie on one of my few days off.
5) I have to say, as sad as it sounds, coming here and posting. I know I'm not one of the big time awesome posters, but I like having an outlet to let my crazy out.
