[PC Game] Civilization V: Let's Conquer the World

So how is everyone looking for a Sunday game again? Same time and such?

I know the Roman Empire looks forward to making contact with glorious China and Russia!

Oh I am the worst person. The worst. My cousin came into town and I just totally let it go out of my mind. I was even home on time. Shit shit. But, I am going to put the save file up for so others can load up the game in future should I be a colossal failure :(

Ugh, I am very sorry.

EDIT: Can't upload Civ Saves to the forum... Hm hm hm[DOUBLEPOST=1375736000,1375735830][/DOUBLEPOST]Here's a public Google Drive folder with the save game: https://drive.google.com/folderview?id=0B4uIk95yGbqfTGtSQ3NHYm84M00&usp=sharing

Let me know the file extension and the approximate size and I can make it so you can upload them here.

Well you guys should play regardless of whether I can be there or not. It will totally ruin my plans though lol. AI's suck (unless it goes ultra aggresive with all my military... that could be amusing).

Like I said though... I shall try.

Any chance you'll be able to make it, Azure?

Ok, after talking with @Chad Sexington about our mutual disappointment in how the game has been going (or more accurately, not been going) and the limitations in Civ 5's in-game turn timer game mode, I did some poking around and found this, Giant Multiplayer Robot, which is basically a third party service to handle hosting the game file, handling the turn timer, and doing player notifications. There's a lot of control we have using GMR that we wouldn't have with normal Civ 5, like how we can exclude certain days/times of day from the timer countdown entirely if need be. Given the disparate schedules and time zone's we have to deal with, this would probably work out better for us. We'd have to restart the game, but that would also allow the others who missed out beforehand to get in on it as well. I know Chad thinks it's pretty cool, what about the others already in the game, @Terrik, @Azurephoenix?

Sorry I wasn't able to make it on Sunday guys. I hadn't seen the wife and kids in almost three weeks and they deserved the attention.

That giant multiplayer robot thing sounds very interesting though. I would be interested in trying it out.

Nah, definitely don't apologise. Family > games is a pretty obvious fact. I think the excitement/ambition of getting several folks spread across multiple timezones to play a game this long was too optimistic. With this GMR thing we can have everyone on any schedule more-or-less. Which should mean more players plus easier playtime, even if the overall game will now take significantly longer. I think Rev's found a great alternative.

I mean, the save file still exists. We could find a time to just burn it down if people are interested. China and Russia won't be cowed by your legions, though. The Sino-Soviet allegiance is unbreakable!

Alternatively you could just grab it from the Google Drive file I posted earlier and play it vs AIs :p

Oh, I always knew legions and ballista wouldn't be enough to deal with China and Russia... but I figured I could crush India (I KNOW I could defeat India with my current forces. You may be the wonder King but I am awesome at early game combat) and then sweep Japan without too much trouble.

I figured that an alliance with Germany would be a good thing as it would be very difficult to take on two highly developed nations by myself (or at least a solid non-aggression pact). Either that or we would annihilate eachother in glorious battle and then be defeated by the peaceful wonder of the other continent lol.

(I'm totally going to play it with A.I.s... I'll have to post the results with pictures!).
