If anyone is in the NYC area August 9-10, come on out to Flushing Meadows Lake for the 24th annual Hong Kong Dragon Boat Races in NY! There's a big festival with food, demonstrations, games, and of course, dragon boat racing! Look around for the Emerald Dragons; we're always happy to share our bbq with people that cheer us on. As you can see, we'll be easy to find. Just ask for "Khaleesi"!

Yes that's an apple, by the way. When my wife and I did this professionally, I used floral foam (that hard, crunchy green foam they stick flowers in) but I didn't have any. An apple seemed like a good alternative.

Today was Lily's 5th birthday. She got an ukulele among other things. When I took this picture tonight, she told me that she was going to make an angry face while playing the ukulele and crossing her legs. I don't know why that was important, but apparently it was part of the whole angry attitude.
Maybe she feels the same way about the Uke as Steve Martin does about the Banjo.

Actually... yes.
I was born in Taiwan, but spent most of my life in the US and UK. So people of the same race do tend to look alike to me, including Asians.
I came back to Taiwan about 10 years ago. Since then, I've also lost my ability to tell Caucasians apart. So, basically, everyone looks like everyone else now.
He's not the grizzled, angry man his voice had led me to believe. His voice lied to me.
