Halforum Minecraft Server

First we need to work the server a little bit. Do some mining. Get an enchanting table and stuff. I found some diamonds and put them into the community chest. We need to have our shit together when we...ATTACK!

I made my house kind of near the colossus looking thing, there was also a village downriver from there. It's not by spawn though. I have an enchanting table, but no bookshelves. I think there's a nether fortress near the portal I built so that I can try to get a blaze rod to make a potion stand.

You have an enchanting table already? Madness!

And we have to realize that this is a team effort. This isn't like the other servers where we spread out & go at it on our own. The thing about adventure maps is getting as many people ready as we can and then attacking the different areas to with the prize. You then take the prize back to the Mausoleum and put the prize on the pedestal, where it gives you a prize. You win when you get all the prizes.

I can move the enchanting table closer to spawn at some point, or just pop a portal link down since I can't imagine they are going to be very far apart. I was wandering around checking stuff out and just ended up setting up where I did because it was between a landmark and the village while keeping both easy to find from there.

No worries! Today at spawn I built a farm and put in some sugar cane. Because I knew we needed this stuff to make books...to make an enchanting table...

How the hell did you do that so fast? I've been digging everywhere for obsidian!

The place I set up a house was also right next to a small lava pool. ;)

I wrote down all my coordinates, but I'm going out to pick up a rental car because insurance companies are stupid so I can't give them right now, but I'm out in the desert along the river if you are feeling adventurous. ;)

Apparently I need to migrate my Minecraft account to a Mojang account to access Realms. Anyone know if there are any downsides to doing so?

Went to Chichen Itza and holy cow. The place is surrounded by these little huts. Each of the huts has a spawner in it. I started going around putting torches on them, but there are a lot I didn't get to. Want to fight flying skeletons? I can help you with that.

The team effort appeals to me. If I can help others by logging in and grinding for a while, I'd love to.

Also my issue so far has been leather, I managed to slay four rabbits to make one book, but haven't seen any cows.

You should have gotten an invite. If not I'll resend.

Done. You now have bookcases surrounding your enchanting table.

Another good thing about this is that it's not meant to last. The Adventure maps are quick and once you beat them you either reset or try a different Adventure map. I think we started on the best one, though. This one is pretty intricate.

We're working on our gear and stuff now.[DOUBLEPOST=1451606803,1451606667][/DOUBLEPOST]I just logged off to make dinner. Oh, and in case that zombie didn't look that big...

i wasnt sure what the wood block thing was in the hut, but it looked liked a good place for an enchanment table so i went ahead and built you a shrine. went ahead and built myself some gear. ill be around.

The enchantment table actually didn't end up there, we have one elsewhere. But if you built another one or something, so be it.

I put that there to put an enchanting table. Then Dei built one at her place.

We SORT OF got the Pyramid.

Let me explain how the Pyramids went. Inside is bloody huge, criss-crossed by trails of lava. Strategically placed around the inside were monster spawners of all sorts. But up in some "trees" (made of colored clay) there were special spawners. Ghasts. So you take them out by fighting your way close, building a way to get up, then killing the spawner. Then you head to the middle. But wait! There's more! To get to the golden chest, you have to climb an ENORMOUS ladder. Guess what's about halfway up? You guess it! Four more ghast spawners. And they will do their best to knock you off the ladder. So you then jump down, destroy the four spawners and then climb the ladder hoping none of the other ghasts still flying out there knock you off. Finally, you make it to the top! You open the chest and find...orange wool. Yes, orange fucking wool. Apparently, the Adventure Block is in another Pyramid.

Fuck me.

Chichen Itza was cool, though. We get to the top and there's this long well-like tunnel leading down. We end up jumping in, which takes us to a place with only a few monsters. We then find ladders leading down to a huge area filled with lava and a giant magma monster. But the magma monster is caught clipping inside a wall. So we run to the middle, take the Adventure Block, and skedaddle.

Found the right pyramid. Mapped it out, beat the boss, got the adventure cube. And then got hit by a skeleton's arrow and knocked into a pool of lava. Since I had fire protection I actually got out but the skeletons were still there and killed me. Lost everything. Again.

But the boss is gone!

Bones and I took on two places tonight. The first were the Hanging Gardens of Babylon. We first went inside and tried to find the boss, but we couldn't. While I looked for clues he went outside...and found that we had to climb to the top, where we found a button that led us to the trials. We had to go through a number of rooms but we finally made it to the boss. Teamwork prevailed and we kicked Minos's ass! Got some pretty decent loot, too!

Then we decided to try and hit the one that Dei and I gave up on - The Lighthouse at Alexandria. To give you an idea, you have to walk narrow ledges and jump to reach ladders while trying not to fall to your death. And at many points there are (were) monster spawners. You then get to the very top and get attacked by...chickens. Actually they are tiny zombies disguised as chickens. We then had to construct our own ladder to the very tip top where we engaged the boss even though he was content to watch us take the block and leave. But I wanted his lootz. We defeated him (although I almost died in the process) and then both called it quits for dinner.

All in all it was very fun trying to figure out the puzzles. And try not to get in each other's ways while we're firing our bows, which are enchanted with Power and Flame! Right, Bones?

did some work today, we now have all colors of wool at the mausoleum and a sheep pen at spawn. also climbed the mausoleum looking for the block for it. found some hidden chests but no block. finally took out the temple of Artemis. Only the taj and Atlantis remain. I figure a couple of us can conquer the others as the temple of Artemis almost took me out.

Atlantis is going to be tough, unless you like lava.

I'm working on stuff so I might not be on today. Maybe the adventure block for the Mausoleum is when we get all the others placed. Dunno. That's the fun of these adventure things - figuring stuff out!

Grinding in Minecraft is too much of a distraction from other things I need to be doing, so I tossed my enchanted gear into a labeled chest. Anyone is welcome to take it.

No worries, Pez.

I got both the Taj and Atlantis. Atlantis wasn't as hard as I thought it was going to be. But that's only because I'd scouted it out & had lots of blocks with me. I could have walked the tightrope instead of building a bridge, but work smarter, I say! I placed both the blocks in the Mausoleum and...nothing. Hmm. So I went looking.

Outside on an upper ledge there are four buttons - one on each corner. Stepped on those and it revealed a ladder going up the side all the way to what I thought was the top. Then I walked some beams to get to the giant chandelier in the middle. On top of that were some enchanted gold armor. But still no adventure block. So I went around on each level on the roof and sure enough I found four MORE buttons, which revealed a ladder going way, WAY up to the top. I go there and find a chest that has...well...crap in it. I climb all the way back down and find that pushing all 8 buttons opened a stairway down to the actual crypt. I met and killed the boss and got the adventure block. Placed it. Now we have all adventure blocks and all wool. So you know what happened? Nothing.

I think we're going to have to explore to find what to do next.

I broke down and went to the web to see if I missed something and found out...that we did it completely wrong. What you're SUPPOSED to do is not craft anything. There are quests to get the wool. Remember when I went into the pyramid and found orange wool? Well, that's where we were SUPPOSED to get it. So we cheated.

When I get home tonight I'm going to look through the other Adventure maps and get a different one set up to start next week.
