Every time I see Meowth pop out of an egg with that smug little grin and stupid little arms, almost saying "Oh look...It's me again...bet you didn't expect that...What can you do though, better get walking!" No you little shit, I did expect that since the only other Alolan I've managed to hatch after about 10 was a single Sandshrew.
Their dark typing is appropriate cause that feline frustration is pushing me to some dark thoughts at this point.
I have hatched a few Grimers and Sandshrews and a metric fuckton of Meowths.

Sounds like instead of shiny they're doing it to make a legacy move available. Makes snorlax the ~third best gym defender instead of mostly irrelevant, so...yay?
Between that and the regis as raid bosses I think it's pretty clear that Niantic is banking on the string of events coming up to carry the game through summer, and saving the interesting stuff for fall when people might otherwise stop playing/spending.

With shiny versions of Articuno comeing next week (probably), and (probably) followed by shiny Moltres and Zapdos...Still, Regice is a complete failure as a level 5 raid boss. You need 6 good accounts (or, more realistically, 8) to take him down, and he's absolutely worthless. I'd still gamble on (shiny) Groudon and Rayquaza to come out during the summer, alongside the Regi's.
