[MLB] 2023 Major League Baseball Season (MLB Thread)

The Nationals are now the last of the 24 teams that were in existence 50 years ago to have finally won at least one World Series game. Only two of the current MLB teams have never won a World Series game (ask @Garedicus and @Dei who they are).

A power tripping umpire? NO WAY!

But it does show the level of idiot that is a Trump fan.

First, this...

Second, this is the first time in the major US sports that the road team has won the first six games of a 7-game final.

Third, if Max is good to go tomorrow, this will be the first Game 7 matchup of two former Cy Young winners.

Gotta love the McCarver Rule.

That, ladies and gentlebeings, is the reason why the Nationals nursed along Strasburg in the beginning.

Greinke vs. Scherzer for the whole shebang.

Fat lot of good it did for them, ain'a?
Maybe, but it might make the MLB take a closer look at them (and Carlos Beltran). It looks like there were benefits, even if it was the whole shebang. Would also explain how one of the worst teams in the entire MLB had such a sudden turn around.

No, that turnaround was due to good drafting and quality players. The cheating part just pushed it over the top.

Kinda like the Patriots. Who won two of their Super Bowls on last second field goals.

True. I think it was in 2014 Sports Illustrated predicted the Astros would win the 2017 championship based on draft moves and the strength of the farm system. It was a pretty good call.

The cheating thing is...not so good.
