[MLB] 2023 Major League Baseball Season (MLB Thread)

Angels are expected to release Albert Pujols any time now. And no, ESPN, he's definitely NOT the "best first baseman ever."

Sorry, but unless they’ve changed the grave marker from LOU GEHRIG to ALBERT PUJOLS, he aint the greatest first baseman ever.

I’m obsessed with this play, I’ve literally watched it 50 times. So many things happened it’s like *everyone* forgot how to play. Will Craig obviously and deservedly gets the most blame here but:
- 3rd baseman throws a routine grounder off 1st base, pulling Craig off the bag
- Baez erroneously assumes he can stall and have the run count
- Craig doesn’t touch 1st, chases Baez
- Craig *THROWS THE BALL TO THE CATCHER* after trapping Baez at home
- Catcher attempts to tag runner from third instead of Baez
- Baez *stands there and signals safe* even though any tag to him negates the run
- 2nd baseman doesn’t cover 1st as all of this is happening.

Just beautiful, beautiful chaos

As a sort-of Father's Day gift, I bought tickets for my dad, brother, and me to the Giants game versus the Dodgers on July 29th. Lower level, just past the Giants dugout, about right between the infield and outfield.
Holy shit, that’s awesome!

That's a great gift! What a good son!
