Today's Semantle ticked me off. SO CLOSE. SO CLOSE. Took 90 guesses but I finally got it with no hints.

And yes, I'm an idiot - the "boring" at 49 was to try and sniff out of "plane" scored well because of the airplane or for the meaning of "plain food". Which, as you can tell I noticed by now, isn't written the same way -_-

Yup, had me goignfor a while too. My 17th guess sent me on a wild goose chase all over the place.

The fact that it considers capitalized words to be different from the same words in lower case is a really sticky wicket.

So, yeah, still doing wordles most workdays. I don't post anymore because no one else seems to care, but I just love how my pattern looks today.

Today's was weird. I was still cold as ice after 40 attempts, and then suddenly I pretty much just chanced on the second-nearest. 43.

Wordle may have fallen out of the zeitgeist, but I'm still enjoying my daily morning Survivle. A nightmare in Wordle is a godsend in Survivle.

I got hooked on Redactle recently. It takes a Wikipedia article and redacts virtually all the words, and you have to guess words until you discover what the title of the article is. For example, two days ago it was Southeast Asia. Yesterday it was differential geometry, which took me a long time to get.

Spoiler for the 11/13 Redactle
You'd have thought, given my field of work, I'd have gotten touchscreen a lot sooner than 94 guesses. Literally every project I'm involved with uses at least one as the central user interface.

I got today's in exactly 60. I spent about 50-ish floundering around, but then hit some words that quickly made it apparent.

By my 20th guess, it seemed pretty obvious that it was government related, and I teased out "human rights" pretty quickly, but for some reason didn't think to search "protests" until nearly 30 guesses later. Once I got that, it all started falling into place.

I got today’s in 29 and nearly half of those were plurals. I can’t even say I got lucky. I just used clues from the text and guessed a word that was in the article 50+ times.

It’s the first one I’ve ever solved. I usually give up around 100.

I solved today's Redactle (#224) in 29 guesses with an accuracy of 34.48%. Played at https://www.redactle.com/

49 guesses, 40.82% accuracy.
Once I hit upon the right word it snowballed quickly, but man.
Fun diversion though. But it doesn't play nice on my phone.

I solved today's Redactle (#226) in 55 guesses with an accuracy of 67.27%. Played at https://www.redactle.com/

I did better than I thought I would. I still had no idea what the answer was at around guess 53, then randomly hit upon the answer at 55.
