By arbitrary decree: "Monday nights" (yes, every Monday!) [strike]at 6pm Central time, through to 8pm-ish. That's 4pm on the West Coast, 7pm on the East Coast, midnight GMT, and 11am Tuesday in Australia.[/strike] Bumped back an hour to 8pm Eastern, 7pm Central, 5pm Pacific, 1am GMT, Noon Tuesday in Australia, lasting until we loose too many players.

I'll get on a little before 7 and start a friends-only lobby, and we'll start whenever we have 4 people (2 vs 2), with random teams. I don't mind playing with horribly unbalanced teams, but if anyone does we can drop back to lobby and choose again.

Why Monday? Wouldn't it be better Friday or Saturday, so one can play too without having to quit one's job?

Because it seemed to work pretty well for the Halforums podcast. I just threw it out there to have something to start with.

Oh, yeah... other people have those things that are always getting in the way. I can't quite think of the word. Something video game related... Hold on, it will come to me.

LIVES! That's it! Other people have lives. I'm always forgetting that. If there are hours on Fri/Sat that will allow more people to join the game, I'm all for it.

heh.. monday, wednesday and friday are my work out day from 6pm to 7:30pm I usually get home around 8pm :) I gotta keep it up, if I skip too much I'll go back into my "funk" and not work out.

Would another night be better? Or just move it a couple hours later?

heh. don't move it because of me :) I can come on around 8:30pmish and play until everyone leaves (or until midnight or getting sleepy hehe)

I, for one, can't play for hours and hours on end. I'm not sure what my limit is for versus, but I don't think it's much more than 2 hours. If I start at 6pm, I'll have burnt-out by 8:30. Starting later isn't a problem, though I'm not sure how late I can go and still use my mic without annoying everyone in the house.

The Jockeys are feeling frisky too Dave...


Anyway, I'm revising the time an hour later, to 7pm Central instead of 6pm, unless there are European players who don't want to start so late.

Well, I'm going to get on tonight at 7pm Central. If other people will... I don't know. If it completely bombs tonight, I'll give it another shot on Friday. I'm going to keep trying until it works (and suggestions are very welcome). Maybe it'll become a weekly event.

Ha! Proved you wrong! We managed a very awesome Versus game. It was looking a little iffy at first, we started with just four, but we made it up to 8 players in a friends-only game. Epic Win!

Yeah, that was fun. Somehow, my comp actually ran well (except the beginning of Swamp Fever part 2)... I almost wonder if it's because I forgot to turn the gore off. I thought before turning it off would help, but it seemed to run better with it left on. Odd... Anyway, glad I jumped it.

I felt bad for Troll, something was definitely wrong. He had me early on, and it didn't register.

So, do we schedule this for next Monday as well, or try for a different night of the week? I've got way too much free time, so I could make twice weekly games, but I'm doubting that everyone can spare that many hours.

My ability to play is sporadic, so don't count on me. But I'll be there if I can. I already know I won't be next week though. Honestly, I got on cause I saw other people on, not from a schedule.

I figured that 6 pm leave one 3 hours until 9, plenty of time for a game before going out. But then again i know way too many people that don't wake up before 2 pm...

It was kinda weird. Lag do have some bad effect on melee and chargers :( I usually can "push back" the jockey and hunters before they get me (as they try to pounce) but I epic fail every single time last night :(

heh. of course I hate it when I was asking where Ellis was (the bot) he either keep getting stuck, teleporting (more likely I'm lag and didn't see him moving) or well... just not doing anything.

LAst night (afternoon to u guys) both those things happened to us, me the horde thing, and to Shawnancy i think the other thing... we lost the versus badly... but we did make it into the 'chopper while the other team didn't...

I ended up lying on the couch watching TV with the wifey. House, Two and a Half Men, Big Bang Theory and the coup de grace - Castle.

The funny part is all of these are DVR'd so if I miss them it's no big deal.

When I play versus, I get incredibly bored when I play as a survivor. It just feels so damn vanilla the thrill you get when you own someone as a SI.

"The Passing" is coming in March

In \"The Passing,\" players will meet up with the original Left 4 Dead's survivors, Francis, Bill, Zoey and Louis, who will appear as non-playable characters. Valve's Chet Faliszek told Kotaku that Left 4 Dead 2's survivors will rendezvous with the original quartet later on in the campaign, and that they will aid Coach, Nick, Ellis and Rochelle in finishing the third map in the campaign.

\"The Passing\" will also add one new uncommon common infected type, which Valve is calling the Fallen Survivor. These new zombies, humans who erroneously believed themselves to be immune to the infection, will sometimes drop items when killed, like health kits or ammo.

The original survivors won't be playable? Boo!

Not only that, but afterwards ("a month or so", but that is presumably in Valve time) the original L4D is getting more DLC (which I hope will fix the L4D hunting rifle, making it act like it does in L4D2)

Looks like one of the new weapons is going to be a Heavy Machine gun, like the SAW the US Military uses. I'm imagining this is probably going to be a rare drop in the vein of the Grenade Launcher, considering how useful having 200+ shots per a clip would be in a Crescendo. Here's hoping the other weapon is going to be a cool melee weapon... like a banjo or a modified shovel (think Lobotomizer from World War Z).

Wow, those videos have all sorts of info on The Passing in them. Not just the new machine gun, but the narrator says the new melee weapon is a golf club and that the Midnight Riders are going to be on Rock Band.


Is anyone up for a Versus game tonight? I'm going to get online at some point this evening, and hopefully others will join in.
