The EPIC WIN Thread 2: EPIC HARDER!

Holy crap.

Okay, so in the last few weeks, I've had a surge of creativity. Specifically, said creativity is regarding a pulp noir detective character. Originally, he was meant to be just a throwaway character to add to the body count of another story/novel. But after writing some scenes with him, I just fell in love with the character. He was so ridiculous and yet there was just something visually exciting about him.

So, I wound up sparing his life and changing the story a little bit. Now, with my sudden realization that I love noir detective stories, I started thinking about doing a series of novels staring this character.

I'm already 8,500 words into the first novel. On top of that, I've now thought of not one, not two, not three, but four more books, each with their own self-contained adventure ala the old pulp novels. I've gone as far as to write a rough "back cover" blurb for each story, too.

Both my girlfriend and a good online friend of mine have drawn him. They just find the concept visually fascinating. Sorry to be so vague. I kind of don't want to give away this great concept. *grin*

I'm planning on finishing the first book by hopefully the beginning of the summer. At the rate I'm going, I may very well start working on the second one soon after, while sending the first one off to potential publishers.

Okay, congrats to Rob for painting and aww to the nice painting lady because that kind of thing has happened to me and that's awesome.

Nick, you should definitely pursue that.

And now, because I will stop caring about everyone else in three, two, one:

Muse was truly worthy of the word "Epic". It was fucking awesome.

That's awesome when a spurt of creativity/ideas comes on. Good luck in your writing. :)

I'm glad to hear both Callistarya and Grandpa Gusto are doing well. Keep us updated on how they're both doing!

As for my epic win (well, aside from knowing forumites are okay): my girlfriend and I went indoor skydiving on Sunday. A blast for her, and it makes her want to go skydiving with me again; still fun for me, and it helps me with body position for when I go get my skydiving license next year. Also:

The day: I saves it!

*tour guide impression* And if you look to your left - and by left, I mean, the Artist Corner forum - you'll see not only the first two chapters of the above mentioned novel I'm working on...

...but an AWESOME sketch that a friend drew of the main character! Seriously! Look! Bask! Read! Comment!

Roommate is gone for the night!

Time make reasonable levels of noise and not feel bad because he goes to sleep at 9pm and keeps his door open because of his cat!

WOOOOO

LAUNDRY AND MICROWAVE ON AT THE SAME TIME!

Remember how I said I was invited to phase I testing for the FBI? Well I passed, and I'm invited for phase II.

Ah Crap. Now we're gonna have The Man watching over us here... Guess this will be the end of Crone.

j/k Good luck, it's not an easy process.

Anyway, we already know that Crone is The Man and just uses it as cover to keep us from suspecting

So the girl's mother gets in town today. I made the girl supper last night so that she could come over and we could talk about things. Have 'that' talk. So now we're 'official' whatever that means.

This morning I decided to change my relationship status on Facebook, and thus far it would appear that most of the comments believe it to be an April Fool's joke. There are even some disparaging comments about the lack of originality for my April Fool's shenanigans.

It's only a little bit sad, and a whole lot funny.

That's why I'm not putting my eggs all in that basket. I doubt I'll make it past phase II.

Don't sell yourself short, Chaz. I knew someone who applied to the FBI that I never believed they would even consider and she got in. It still amazes me and scares me a little.

To tell you the █████████████ I'm no█████████████ █████████████ but I █████████████ . And I've since been████████████████████████████████████████████████████ but the important thing here isn't that I█████████████ in 1987 in █████████████ in the desert but rather that Chaz gets █████████████ a chance at doing what he wants to, which is awesome, and will benefit me because █████████████ though if it weren't for the █████████████I'd be more worried about Shego and her █████████████ than me.

Seriously, Sharkface. Congratulations. Good luck on the next stage.

My cousin (who was in the Marines) was laughing at my physical requirements test. It's not really that bad. http://www.fbijobs.gov/11131.asp

I can do 100 pushups easy and like 45 sit ups in a minute, so as long as I hit the bare minimum point for the other two tests, I'm good to go. (pretty sure I can get a 12 minute mile and 50 second 300 m sprint)

Woo hoo!

I just got done ordering something I have been wanting for years a LoZ: OoT replica Ocarina (plus two Rupee Ocarinas ) :)

In the set I ordered I will be getting the following

12 hole Zelda Tenor Ocarina (Special Edition)

6 Hole Zelda Rupee Tenor Ocarina (red)

6 Hole Zelda Rupee Soprano Ocarina (green)

Zelda Song Book for Ocarinas

Songs from the Twilight Princess for 12 Hole Ocarinas

Protective Bag for Ocarina

I was going to say "you know, that's just a standard 12-hole sweet-potato ocarina with a triforce on it, right?"
But considering you're getting 3 ocarinas and some songbooks, it's actually not a bad price if the ocarinas are concert pitch.

I'm getting Abraham Lincoln: Vampire Hunter, And Another Thing... (the eoin colfer scripted sequel to hithchikers) AND, finally, Dirk Gently's Hollistic Detective Agency... all three arrive with my dad on Tuesday!

HELL YEA
