Eight Myths About Hanukkah

Hey guys. Just posting a link here of a lesser-known member of ThatGuyWithTheGlasses.com known as ThatJewishGuy. In it, he's debunking eight misconceptions about Hanukkah. You folks might find it interesting for two reasons:

1. It is fun, informative and features appearances from a variety of commentators and reviewers from the site.
2. The Nostalgia Chick appears at one point in a...shall we say, very pleasing outfit.

Pleasing outfit does not remove my urge to want to beat her with a lead pipe.

You know, I'm going to add "Chanukah is a not the most important of the Jewish year" to my list of things everyone knows and is sick of being told as if they don't know right along side "there's more than one English accent" and "the rest of the world calls soccer football". Non-Jews know! Hell, my redneck sister freakin' knows. Just because we're in a jubilant mood and exuberantly wish you a happy Chanukah, that doesn't automatically imply that we think Chanukah is a big holiday. That pretty much goes for most of the so-called "myths".

(also a big "meh" on the outfit)

This is true, however, thatguywithglasses is pretty much a website dedicated to things everyone knows and is sick of being told as if they don't know. This probably explains why my urge to kill rises anytime I happen to watch nostalgia critics reviews.

I love the dreidel. It used to keep our minds off the endless hunger during the holiday season. That and the fact they helped us solve duels to the death in the ring of honor.

I don't see what the problem is. We used the dreidel to decided duels of honour, and who should die for violating said honor. I lost my best friend to the gimel.

I still remember his screams as we descended upon him.
