It's a funny story, but it is sad in that it demonstrates how much he misses his father. I really, really, really, really, hope that his mother is doing all she can to preserve his relationship with his father (unless, of course, his father is truly at the level of evilness that even a regular relationship would do more harm to the kid than without him).

My nephew's (step-nephew legally adopted by my brother, if you want to get technical) father served time for "molesting" an underage girl. Incredibly extenuating circumstances, but still. I'm amazed that my sister-in-law still makes an effort for the kid to see his father, since he's all kinds of a screw-up and my brother has been the kid's effective dad since before he was 2.

I feel terrible for getting a chuckle out of this story, but I can't help it every time I imagine a cross-dressing four year old tottering down the road swigging beer. What a freaking little gangster. Maybe they should check to see if he's shaving.

Yeah, but I'm reading about this on the internet. Reality doesn't figure in. :)

I am shocked that the mother was able to retain custody after the investigation.

Well, I mean apparently the kid broke the child proof door thing.

Really I'm just impressed at how smart this kid is. He's figured out how to get around things meant specifically to stop him and his kind, and knows that if he does bad things he'll go to jail where his dad is.

Really I'm just fearful for when this kid gets old enough to really cause some trouble.
