What the fuck happened to Christina Aguilera?

I think I pinpointed why I feel this way: I am fat. 5`8 and 255-260 pounds. I would KILL to be her size yet I keep thinking she is ugly as sin...er....well..not sin...you know what I mean!

Also, I find it a little discouraging. If I somehow get to that size will people still think of me as a collosal fatty? Is it worth it?

No. I don't think that. It is the presentation. I personally think she is ok, but in that outfit.... yuck.

I'm torn about the whole overweight champion thing. On the one hand, it's your life, etc. On the other hand, it seems like we spend so much time lately justifying being overweight as a society. My FB feed is filled with sassy posts from overweight people that go beyond "If I want to be fat, I can be fat" to saying thin is wrong, and how we're forced by the media to value thin. I must admit I find that odd.

(Also, this is not Hollywood Chunky, either. It may not be morbid obesity, but it's also not a little pooch.)

I think the biggest factor is that some people simply look alright even when fat. Some people are just really good at pulling off a look while that heavy, and a lot of it comes down to clothing choices and how they carry themselves. Examples of people who look good even while heavy: Queen Latifa, Jack Black, Gabriel Iglesias (and he's HUGE).

Miss Aguilera's problem is that she hasn't altered her wardrobe and performances from when she was skinny as a rail. She really needs to re-invent her image and how she performs her shows or take some time off to work on her image.

So to answer your question Sin... how you portray yourself has a lot more to do with how people react to you than how you look. Yes, some people will treat you like crap regardless, but a good sense of humor and some nice flamboyant clothes go a long way.

And yes, I am a husky gentleman myself. I could certainly look worse than I do though.

Well, if we were in the age of old (before cars and such) people tend to be "leaner" cause we constantly in motion either hunting, gathering, producing goods or trade. As technology progress, we get lazier and don't exercise. Being overweight does have it consequences so people always say to be "thinner" but being THIN is bad also (i.e. too thin or anorexic thin) there is a happy medium where people should be for better health and energy.

I think the root of Christina Aguilera's problems come from her outfit, her makeup, her hair, and the fact that she's racked up some negative karma points over the years. The weight, while not ideal by any means, is really the least of her problems.

Fat - Being a larger individual and acting/dressing like you're 50-150 pounds lighter. That's when it's ok to make fun of "fat" people.

If you're not a smaller person, carry yourself well, dress well, and are happy then someone comes along and calls you fat? They're retarded/ignorant.

It's a very simple formula.

I'd say that the pictures are of her in a VERY bad outfit. It's accentuating all the wrong areas for her and makes her look even bigger than she is. First pic isn't too bad, shows that she's gained weight, the other pics just make her look horrible. The jacket takes away her waist and makes her look wider, and the leotard accents that she's got a big of a tummy. Her wig/hair just makes it all look even worse.

Granted, she's now coming up on 31, and ALL of us have changes that start around that time that we have to learn to fight and take care of ourselves in a different way.

I wasn't even looking at the outfit, I knew right away when I saw the +50lbs cheeks. It ain't the outfit.

I guess you need more proof:

Did you really just say that it's because of her age now? It's because she let herself go. Plain and simple.

If YOU feel confident and happy, then who the hell cares who's silently judging you like some kind of a chicken shit? People who'd mock others in whispers and think all those negative thigns aren't worth the energy it takes for them to process their ignorant thoughts. Period. I did my best to accept this before losing any weight, because I wanted to do it for me and not so that I wouldn't feel like people were judging me.

Whew, sorry if I came off as hostile. That's just a feeling I can really identify with. I'm trying to be supportive, not preachy... probably didn't quite come off that way.

Jeez women, stop taking it soooo personally. Stop comparing yourself to her, you just can't unless you can afford a full-time trainer, have your own gym and live your life in the spotlight of the entertainment industry. At no point or time did this thread refer to "look how fat she is" but moreso "what the fuck happened to her".

Basically, I just wanted to know what the fuck happened to Christina Aguilera within the past year. How she went from being one fine piece of ass in Burlesque that gave me a massive stonker .... to a blonde Snooki within a year's time.

I guess you need more proof:
I point you to the top of the photo "Picture Parody by Sportsfan."

I went and found a couple of gossip sites that follow these idiots (celebs in general) and saw pics that were taken in the past couple of days, she doesn't look as fat as the original pictures in the thread.

As to the second pic you posted, I've seen very fit people in that position that looks bad too.

Didn't notice that about the parody pic, but since you're just going to continue to blindly white knight her, be my guest.

(Don't know who you're responding to in particular, Jay, but I wasn't trying to attack the initial comment. I've reacted to surprising weight gain in a similar way.)

Meh, I don't know what's going on in her life, but she just looks to me like another person who turned 30 while still eating like she's 20. I totally get that. Yeah, sure she has a dietician, so yeah, it's on her, etc, but speaking personally, that is a tough thing to come to grips with.

Eating alone doesn't cause that. Eating and doing nothing about exercise? Will.

That's a double fault, and not excuseable in her financial situation.

Sorry Jay. I didn't mean to shit in your thread. I knew you meant this in a flabbergasted way..I just couldn't stop myself.

You guys get me wrong. I just don't want people to feel alienated in any shape or form for that is not the purpose of this thread.

You're all beautiful women in your own right, regardless of height, weight, skin color or religion. ;)

Except Shegs.

Man, for all the money and resources a person can have, that never guarantees discipline (and sometimes hinders it). Same reason why rich people who can afford to give their kids amazing opportunities and educations sometimes end up with lazy little spawns who fall into cushy jobs while never truly amounting to anything great. I'm betting this won't last. Maybe sometimes celebs need a break from all the discipline and let themselves go knowing that it's easier for them than others to shed the weight. I'm more with Shego on this one... if I had all the money and time in the world I'd like to think I'd have already gotten as fit as I want to get. What an opportunity.

It's not her, it's the way that photos can really not show the truth about the way someone looks. Poor positioning, bad outfits, just the wrong moment to snap the shutter... those can all be factors in looking worse than you do in reality.

Personally I don't care for her music, or the image that she's portrayed to the public in the past. I saw the pics and offered my commentary, beyond that, we're all just guessing.

Dang, Kelly Osbourne and Christina Aguilera are nemeses? This is news to me. How the hell to these feuds start?

I'm so damned tempted to make a video of me doing the Truffle Shuffle...

(not tempted enough to do it, though)

Depends... how long where you planning to be alive for?

"Other people will think i'm pretty" should be the last reason on the list for why one should lose weight...
