Amazing.I see a lot of posts here about technical issues, which I'm always happy to know about before investing in a new game; but how's the game itself, once you get logged in?
Same, with the exception of Skyrim I think. I had one issue during pre-launch, but it was fixed the next day. Not really sure what was happening. Other than that, it runs flawlessly, at least for me.Amazing.
I've spent more time playing this game than any other game this year, and it's only a week old.
I am probably going to be one of the only people that makes a Soldier. Screw all you Luke, Boba, and Han wannabes. It's Mass Jedi Online.
And WoW is unique that way. I think Bioware and EA are smart enough to know that WoW is unique that way and aren't going to bother with buying more expensive ass servers unless they need to. I'm sure if this continues they will.People thought that about WoW, and it just kept growing and required even more and more servers even after the first rabid deployment that happened at launch. The servers WoW has now are over four times what they had originally. I think if the game is going to be as popular as people hope it would, then they need to assume the population will keep growing rather then shrink. The hype alone should have told them that.
It may very well be that many lose interest, and they wouldn't need the extra servers in the long run, but I would rather they invest into the servers and just merge them later then have the playerbase wait in gigantic queues. They can just sell the servers again to other companies/divisions or repurpose them for other games if they find they don't need them. This is actually one of the reasons I have already given up on DCU, because I found myself stuck in a queue most nights and decided to instead play other games.
I'm really liking my Trooper. I went Vanguard, so I have some heals too, which has proven vital in the Flashpoints. Besides, the armor is awesome looking post 15.I am probably going to be one of the only people that makes a Soldier. Screw all you Luke, Boba, and Han wannabes.
I really like my Trooper too. My main is a Sith Inquisitor/ Sorcerer but I think I may like the Trooper just as much!I'm really liking my Trooper. I went Vanguard, so I have some heals too, which has proven vital in the Flashpoints. Besides, the armor is awesome looking post 15.
It mostly seems to be crystals and relics, but the vendors also sell a few pieces of armor that restricted as well. I had great fun using my Dark side relic to give my character an evil red glow. When we RPed the Dark/Light decision during the Athsis Flashpoint, I used it as I urged the others to destroy the beacon and let the survivors die. Really surprised them, as they hadn't seen relics yet.Is there really gear based on Alignment? If so, that's awesome.
You can also get them with merits. I think it's 12 and you get a random purple relic box. There are vendors that sell Light/Dark side restricted gear.
What problem are you having? If it was this morning, you may have to wait, as the servers were down for maintenance. So, despite my hate for EA's terrible customer service, this game was purchased for me as a gift. Now I just need to activate my key and subscription. Two hours later, I'm still trying to do so.
Cool.
And it's more than that, too. I got a small fang off of a Giant Bormu while on Ballmora.Which is neat and gay at the same time.
For example, evil Sith guy vs me and a buddy, we kill him, he drops a purple.... requires Light 2.
WTF man.
This exactly happened to me, but with added frustration. The first time I rode the balloon, I got there no problem and got the matrix shard, but overjumped the ledge wen I tried to drop down to the Strength datacron.Just waited 30 minutes for the stupid Jawa Balloon on Tatooine to take me over the Sandcrawler so I could get the Datacrons there. I get on and wait about 20 for it get where I need it to go. It then glitches out about 5 minutes from the crawler, deposits me on the ground, and immobilizes me. I then had to run back, wait another 30 minutes for the Balloon to return, then another 25 for it to get over the crawler again.
Total time? Almost 2 hours. I am REALLY fucking glad I got both datacrons on my first go, as one of them had a datacron fragment in it.
I'd do it more often if the parts weren't so fucking expensive. Maybe if more people bought my guns on the market it wouldn't be an issue...I gotta say that the space combat is just as fun as questing around on planets and serves wonderfully to break things up.
Ran it a few nights ago, fantastic,I am SO happy that no one spoiled the Foundry for me or my friends, and that we all ran it together.
INCREDIBLY satisfying flashpoint.
Been in a lot of moist flashpoints, eh?Ran it a few nights ago, fantastic,
Heck, moist Flashpoints are.
