If that's real, it's far and away the stupidest reason for an account action I've seen in any game. Wow.

Can you log onto the game? If so, it's fake. You can't even log in with a banned account. And dear god, don't click any of the links in that e-mail.

Oh, just noticed this wasn't your account personally. I call total shananegens on this.

Anyone into this yet? Is it casual friendly?

I've done nothing in my free time except play this ever since the early access week. It has eaten my life.

I'm a serious altoholic though, so my highest level character is only 27. I can't speak for how 'hardcore' it gets in endgame, but I'd say it's very casual friendly. The storyline is superb, and it can very easily be played solo, during which it feels just like a bioware epic RPG. The ability to group up for heroic missions, flashpoints, operations, and go out in space battles helps a lot to break it up, and even though I tend to play MMO's solo while leveling, the flashpoints and group missions so far have all been a lot of fun.

The ability to have dialogue with npc's while in groups, and have everyone contribute (while earning social points to boot) make them feel much more involved than WoW.

Going by the official thread about it, it's apparently true, but what he's not telling anyone is that he was specifically using a pvp exploit known to be a problem on Ilum (factions trading off the pvp zones with end-game comparable loot in them for infinite wealth). So Bioware apparently banned him for using the exploit, not for going to a high-level zone with a low-level toon.

This may be the first game where I genuinely play every single class to cap. I'll likely pick one after that to keep in the end-game, but the stories are so much better than your average MMO, it's not even funny.

Man you have no idea how happy I was when I found a proper helmet for my Bounty Hunter. No more bike helmets or gas masks for me!

PLUS it was an epic world drop! :D

One feature I would like very much to be added is the possibility to hide companion head slots. I hid my shameful headwear for 25 levels, why can't I hide Mako's ridiculous leather cap?

Has anyone else gotten the mini-NPC bug?

It's happened to me a couple times, I'm talking to someone, then all of a sudden they're tiny in the cutscene (which is hysterical if they're gesticulating wildly).

I swapped out the mods in a Marauder helmet for my Operative. I'm so tired of goggles.

Picture this cutscene...

Imperials.... Republic soldiers shooting at each other from their trenches wearing nothing but their underwear and shooting "air guns" pew pew pew. Meanwhile, you have a final stand off against a Master Jedi who's naked in front of you with sounds of PHEW PHEW of his sword... meanwhile I pull out a sniper rifle FROM MY ASS and shoot him down in a DARK OPTION outcome.

It was hilarious

Even if you never do any heroic (group) quests or flashpoints, you'll still be able to level well on your own as long as you follow your storyline and pick up other quests in the same areas. Being in conversation with other people's characters is just a cool feeling.

I love cowering npc's on my sith lord. Group conversations add so much immersion to the game.

My operative is such a one trick pony in pvp. It's a really nice trick but I'm still interested in seeing how he is in raids.

I may end up rolling Juggernaut as I originally intended after all.

I prefer operative healing to sith sorcerer healing. I also LOVE THE IA STORYLINE TO DEATH. >.>

Unfortunately, my aging system starts to die if I PVP. The attack/defense mode one is okay, but huttball is just unplayable frame-crashing madness.

That's what happens to me whenever they send me to the Battle of Alderan. I literally feel like I should just log out and wait for the match to end when that happens.

If I were to play, it'd be the same thing I've played in nearly every MMO. A Self-Healing Tank Class.

Yes, I've been a paladin many times, not in heart but g'damn if the mechanics don't sway me. (WoW: Would have played a Death Knight but been playing the PLD so long I couldn't bring myself to change mains in Wrath.)

What's the closest aproximation to that in ToR?

There really isn't one, mainly because you'll always have companions that can fulfill another role for you. Basically, if you want to heal as a tank, get your companion to do it for you. If you want to tank, these are your options:

Jedi Shadow/Sith Assassin: Least tanky of the three choices, but can frontload it well. Also get some crowd control and backstabs. Starts as a Jedi Consular/Sith Inquistor.

Jedi Guardian/Sith Juggernaut: Probably the most tanky option, but needs to build up Force/Rage to do it. Don't have a lot of experience with them, but they are pretty tough. Starts as Jedi Knight/Sith Warrior.

Vanguard/Powertech: Probably the most balanced option, and the only ranged one. Mainly focuses on temporary shields and other abilities (like flamethrowers) to reduce damage coming in and increasing your own max health. Starts as Trooper/Bounty Hunter.

If you want to reliably heal yourself, your going to have to pick a more DPS focused class, unfortunately.

Go Bounty Hunter Powertech, Shego.

It's the Bounty Hunter tank class, and your first companion Mako can be set to dedicated healer duty.

It's what I'm doing. :)

Wait... companions?

I think I just got completely turned off to this MMO.

Might need some more info....
You get NPC companions that take part in your character's story in the game. They can also craft/go on material gather missions for you. Finally, your able to take one of them with you while you quest to act as support (though you can tell them to go away if you want). It's basically to make up for not having other players with you. Each companion specializes in a different thing, be it healing, DPS, or tanking.

Honestly, I was a bit worried about them too when I first started, but they are invaluable if you play by yourself a lot.

That's genuinely disappointing.... I've yet to find a game that the companion system made me feel good about it.

Maybe ToR is the one, but it's already starting off on two bad feet. No self healing tank class, and compaions....

I really want the darkside hoodie being worn by Gabe in today's Penny-Arcade

(Warning to Mav if he still lurks: Penny-Arcade comic incoming)

If it makes a difference Shego, I've heard you can torture your female Twi'lek companion if you're a Sith Warrior (I think it's the warr and not the inquis).

Anyone confirm?
