Hey don't get me wrong the day this gets in front of a jury I'll jizz in my pants.

But up until now the justice system hasn't given a damn about what the facts are so I don't believe they suddenly will out of the goodness of their hearts. So I'll do my best to keep it in the public spotlight so what the didn't do out of professionalism they will do out of fear for their jobs.

Well, all they really have to do is show it's not Zimmerman, which is a lot easier than showing it is. Also, even though it may sound degraded to your ears, even something as simple as a transform to the spectral domain may reveal very clear parts of the signal spectrum that could differ radically from Zimmerman's voice. Not confirming or denying anything these experts did, since I don't know their work, but it's possible.

One expert:

The second expert Ed Primeau, is a Michigan-based audio engineer who relies on a method involving "audio enhancement and human analysis based on forensic experience." He listened to the audio tape of the screams and concluded: "I believe that's Trayvon Martin in the background, without a doubt." He said emphatically: "That's a young man screaming." Orlando Sentinel reported Primeau said the tone of voice is a "give away."


Other expert:​
Owen told the Orlando Sentinel that his biometric analysis ruled out the possibility that the screaming voice in the 911 recording was Zimmerman's. Huffington Post reported Owen said: "I took all of the screams and put those together, and cut out everything else." According to the Orlando Sentinel, Owen said the analysis returned a 48 percent match. He explained that a positive match in the circumstances would require a higher than 90 percent match.​

Sounds like the first guy is handwaving, but the second guy probably did something like what I was describing.

Well, considering that they've just announced (or at least, my CNN breaking news app just announced) that the special prosecutor in the case has decided NOT to refer the case to a grand jury, I'd say that yes, things are probably about to go to Hell. Me, I have little to no solid opinion on the case, especially since learning that NBC cooked their initial 911 tape release to make it seem like Zimmerman was being racist, rather than revealing that he only said "he's black" after the 911 op asked "is he white, black, or hispanic." There's just so much misinformation, so many half-truths, and so much raw speculation flying around that it's hard to get a genuine feel for the facts of the case.

CNN also did a report I saw yesterday where they got someone to enhance the audio, and it sounded like Zimmerman was not saying "fuckin' c**n", but "It's fuckin' cold"

All of this isn't going to matter. The guy is toast in the only court that seems to matter, public opinion. Zimmerman killed Martin and Martin killed Zimmerman. If any good comes out of this, it'll be getting rid of retarded laws like Stand Your Grand.

So many things in this case seem to have been distorted by the media, by both sets of parents, by Sharpton and Jackson, by public opinion, by what-have-you; that to me it just re-highlights why cases should not be tried in the court of public opinion before being tried in the actual court. I love some of the ways that new media outlets, including social media outlets, have helped open up events in the world to more viewers faster in some cases, and absolutely hate it in others. For instance, the way Twitter has been utilized by the National Weather Service and weather.com to very quickly disseminate information about tornado strikes, as a recent example, is just awesome. On the other hand, we have both this case and the Casey Anthony case, which were both tried in the court of public opinion and were both tried by media personalities (Nancy Grace from CNN for one and Sharpton from NBC for the other), and neither of those cases are coming out well.

Zimmerman was already forbidden to carry a weapon on that night. Gun laws are only worthwhile if they are followed, which in this case they were not.

I'm wondering about the special prosecutor and what else they had on the case that made this decision. I think it's pretty amazing that those who have seen the information/evidence TEND to side with Zimmerman.

So basically, what I'm gathering here, is that because of the initial outright fabrications of "journalists" and the ensuing misdirected outrage and political axes to grind against the 2nd amendment, there's absolutely no way anybody will ever be convinced of Zimmerman's innocence who wasn't already from the start.

Stand Your Ground has nothing to do with the second amendment.

Oh he shot the kid, but my concern has been, and always will be over the bullshit platforming these situations turn into. I don't care which side someone is on with those, they can go fuck themselves for turning it into a spectacle.

The attack on Stand your ground is a proxy fight against the 2nd amendment, since the 2nd amendment calls for absolutely no abridgements on the right to keep and bear arms. Bear means to carry around, openly. As in, you can carry a gun in public. Really, a lot of standing laws in municipalities/counties/states are in direct contravention of the 2nd amendment, but states' rights only seem to matter when it directly supports democrat ideology.

He admits to shooting the kid. But he says it was self defense. The issue is whether he committed a crime.. hence, he can still have shot Martin and yet be innocent of murder.

You said direct contravention, but the amendment does not explicitly state 'open carry', so you're adding rights to the amendment that don't exist. Bearing weapons doesn't imply walking around with your penis hanging out.
