Step 2: The Federal Reserve is going to pump $1 TRILLION to help the stock market.
Fuck the people. We have to help the corporations.
When you originally posted this, I thought this was something the Fed was considering but then the market receded because the Fed changed their mind.
I didn't realize until earlier today that no, they actually did it, and it still had next to no effect.
I still don't agree with Citizens United, but if supposedly "money = speech," then this sure says a lot.

Just got back from grocery shopping. It was...fucking insane. No meat. No eggs. There was no bread until they wheeled out another pallet full and I was able to snag some. No pizza. No potatoes. We ended up shorting our list by a lot and it was STILL more expensive than it usually was because it was impossible to bargain shop - you had to take what was there.

We went there at 8 pm and the place was packed.

Just nuts.

Send out the Doomies to enact justice, my queen!

Just make sure they wash their hands after. And grab a few wipes, just in case.
I'm going to sew up some little face masks for them and provide them with extra-sharp claws. Those #@%&* deserve to be taught the joys of ferret-pantsing.

I manage a grocery store. Trust me, I know how nuts it is.

I get to enjoy it all day

Went shopping today. Since I have a pantry that is filled to the brim (I started this this months ago, always buying canned stuff, pasta, chips and shelf stable food on sale to save money) with essentials and a freezer in the basement filled with food, I didnt have to scramble for anything. Finally my obsession with meal prepping and smart shopping has paid off.

I did try to put off buying TP as long as possible because I didnt want to seem like one of the crazies, but I only have 1 roll left. The only TP they had left over after
the crazy hoarder rush yesterday, was winter scented. So now my wipes smell like apple, cloves and red wine.

Decided having a few pounds of dried beans couldn't hurt. Luckily, no one up here knows what to do with pinto beans, apparently. They were the only kinds of beans left, and there were at least 15-20 lbs of them on the shelf. I picked up 5. The store itself is pretty picked over all the 'most desirable' product, but there's plenty of staple veg and pasta if you move to the 2nd tier stuff. The 'ethnic' section had a whole bunch of 'sushi rice' that was untouched. It's just short grain rice. Dunno why people left it alone.

I got 8 cans of prime Canadian spam yesterday, same price as 'Merikan Spam, yet all the 'Merikan Spam was gone.

Botan? Nishiki? Kokuho Rose? All versions of Calrose medium grain rice. Close enough that most Japanese restaurants in the US use them. Kokuho Rose is my personal fave.

If there's one good thing about this ordeal, it's made me realize how inadequate my hand-washing has been. Seems like a good habit to fix even when this is done
