[TV] Steven Universe (spoilers)

Either that or when they said "Ten Episodes" they meant ten TWENTY TWO minute episodes, at least my hopeful ass is hoping for. Either way, no WAY its ending there.

That makes the most sense to me. Each two segments makes up one NORMAL TV slot episode, so we're probably only halfway through.

Now to wait seven months.

Okay, can we talk about the "Growing Pains" episode and how it maturely tackles trauma, PTSD, and overall mental health? Like, it's still a cartoon with silly stuff happening, but WOW. It had a doctor straight up talk about things like cortisal.

When has a cartoon ever shown the aftereffects of the physical and mental trauma a main character goes through? Or have them actually confront that trauma with a licensed professional?

This here? This is the kind of stuff that makes me love Steven Universe so much.

Steven Universe Future 15 & 16:

Congrats, Steven. You learned your dad had everything you (suddenly) wish you'd had with none of the context for why he left. You even saw all the unopened letters he sent his parents... do your Grandparents know you exist, Steven? Do they even care? Why didn't they try to get children's services involved? You could have had the life you want so desperately, if only Mr. and Mrs. DeMayo cared... but clearly they cared less than your dad did.

Oh, and way to go shitting on your dad's life changing moment. It's not like it lead him to a happy and fulfilling (if someone tragedy filled) life... he's a fucking millionaire that gets to live his dream of working in the music industry. Maybe it's not what you needed to hear, but fuck you for almost killing your dad and fuck you for comparing him to Pink Diamond: at least -he's- never killed anyone you miserable little shit.

I understand the whole point of this series is to show that Steven's kind of a mess because of everything that happened, but FUCK... Greg's a fucking saint to put up with this.

I know this is the series finale, but I also know Rebecca said awhile back that the franchise wasn't over, but that she also didn't know what form it would take in the future. So... I'm suspecting we're probably going to be getting years of comics for this like Adventure Time, Gravity Falls, and Over The Garden Wall.

Probably yeah, either way I'm hoping a spin-off comes about that expands on the freaking lore. Like, we STILL don't know who made the Diamonds or WHY they were on a universal conquest despite being a race of nigh immortal beings who neither need to reproduce or eat. I say this as non-callously as possible, but I hope future additions BARELY focus on Steven as their's so much to the show's universe....also maybe a Jasper spin-off, kinda felt that Future brushed her under the rug. LOVED the finale don't get me wrong, but it does leave ya wantin' more.

If they do a Steven Universe: 10 Years later thing, Jasper is going to be a Middle School PE teacher and she's gonna make kids play dodgeball every fucking day she can and she's gonna be way too into it.

Wow, you hate the idea of Jasper getting a redemption arc so much, you just turned her into an even worse villain. What is wrong with you?
