Also the French study that is being quoted as showing the efficacy of this drug was a fucking terrible study. It was small scale ( only 42 people) non randomised non blinded trial. 20 people in the treatment group & 16 in the control group & they tested how much of the virus people had in their system before, during & after the trial, something you'd expect to drop as people recovered anyway. And since it was a non randomised trial we don't know if they deliberately loaded all the people they expected to recover quickly into the treatment group.

Some of you may also be asking "wait 20 people in the treatment group + 16 in the control only adds up to 36. You said there were 42 in this study?". Yes I did. There were initially 26 people in the treatment group but 6 of them dropped out midway through. 1 for unknown reasons, 1 because of the side effects (nausea) being too much, 3 were admitted to the ICU, & 1 person died.

In other words if we stack the odds & ignore the people who get worse on the drug then it is more effective than doing nothing. And that's what Trump is touring as a miracle cure.

Modly's on the case, you guys, calming down this whole situation...

... Ok, going on the ship's PA and calling their captain "stupid" is probably not winning any points with them. What the heck was even your goal with this?

Do you want a Praetorian Guard scenario? Because this is how you get a Praetorian Guard scenario.

Irony? Complaining that someone is stupid because they should have known something would leak to the general public in an audio recording leaked to the public -- that's a lack of self awareness that stands out even in this administration.

[schadenfreude]
Modly submitted his resignation a day after audio of his speech on the carrier was published by Task & Purpose.

I didn't realize there was still anyone left to fire.
Also all these firings have gotta hit some point where there's just nobody left to do all the jobs that he keeps opening up.

We've been at that point for a long time. Multiple security positions have been empty.

President Trump said Tuesday that he would consider placing a hold on funding for the World Health Organization (WHO)
A real stable genius said:
They missed the call. They could have called it months earlier. They would have known, and they should have known, and they probably did know. We’re going to be looking into that very carefully, and we’re going to put a hold on money spent to the WHO. We’re going to put a very powerful hold on it, and we’re going to see. It’s a great thing if it works, but when they call every shot wrong, that’s not good.
Oh come ON. You try to shift the blame any harder and you're going to fry the clutch.

Where the fuck are those colonels getting ideas? Save us. For God's sake, SAVE US.

I was asked a few years ago if I was rooting for a coup. Today? YOU'RE GODDAMNED RIGHT I AM.

"You vote by mail in Florida, don't you, Mr. President?"

"Because I'm allowed to."

EDIT for the correct quote.

“Why don’t we let this wash over the country?” Trump asked, according to two people familiar with his comments, a question other administration officials say he has raised repeatedly in the Oval Office.
Fauci initially seemed confused by the term “wash over” but became alarmed once he understood what Trump was asking.

“Mr. President, many people would die,” Fauci said.

The president said he understood but since then has repeatedly made clear he wants to reopen things soon — although significant roadblocks remain.
