Gas Bandit's Political Thread V: The Vampire Likes Bats

Honestly the biggest issue is that when Jones won, a ton of republicans stayed home because they were disgusted by Moore. For 2020, even Alabamans that don't particularly like tuberville will show up for trump and then vote downballot republican because they're already there.

Nah, it's a memorial to the Ukranian division of the SS that slaughtered a lot of Polish people (there were no jews left or else, them too) in a Ukranian cemetery.

There's no hidden anything about it. It's a memorial to Nazi SS soldiers. In Canada.

Because of course they did. Nothing says job well done like an insolvent company.

No severance payments to laid off staff though I bet?

Pardon my cranky.

So, uh, someone attempted to assassinate a federal judge who is on a case tied to a big bank and Epstein. Instead they only murdered her college age son and wounded her husband.

NEAT.
Gee, I wonder where this feeling of lawlessness is coming from.

The USA would really benefit from a more fully fledged, multiple party political system.
Of course, this would mean you'd get 25% green left, 5% libertarian liberal, 15% moderate-left, 20% moderate-right , 15% theocratic evangelical right, 20% fascist dictatorship right, and you'd all still be SOL.

Also, if the Republican Party were to magically cease to exist in a way that there wasn't a spiritual successor, the Democratic Party would split within a week.

Incorrect. If trump came out today and said Jesus wasn't real and Christians were all morons they'd still support him.
If the only other option was a liberal abortion till the 82nd trimester black woman? Sure. In practice, therefore, you're right.
In magical fairytale country where there's suddenly a separate party dedicated to the Pences of the world, I think they 'd split.

They like trump more than pence. Being an evangelical is less about faith and more about hurting people different than you.
That's the part that always bugged me. Even if they ditched the shitgibbon, the GOP would still control the White House. So how bad must Pence be to have everyone twist themselves in so many knots to keep the status quo?

Pence doesn’t excite the base and make racist morons cream in their pants. At this point they are choosing fanatical fascism over country. Because of course they are.

If Trump manages to win despite all best efforts of people with brains on your end on the ocean (I'm sure people with brains on the other side of the ocean will be eagerly helping him), I wouldn't actually be surprised if Pence replaces him next Summer or so.

The reason they don't just oust Trump for Pence is entirely because the GOP sees the writing on the wall, and they know that doing such to Trump would likely lead to them being primaried in the next election. I mean, look what happened to Jeff Sessions. Trump has become too powerful as a figurehead for them to oust, so they know that anyone turning on him very likely won't be elected again because of it and instead be replaced by a more "Trumpist Republican". They are trying to save their jobs and hold that power and will sacrifice the country to do it.

As an aside, sure is a great day to be a Texan.

Allen West just became chair of the Texas GOP.

And we are starting to see the "We need refrigerated trucks for all the bodies!" section of the COVID timeline.

They found the killer!

He's already dead!
