Coronavirus Thread

If THIS is how it gets legalized, I'm gonna laugh my ass off.

As for school... yeah, it's get kids prepared for the 19th century workforce. Too bad we're in the 21st, which means it mostly exists to warehouse children 6-7 hours a day because I sure as hell didn't learn anything job relevant in K-12.

Hey, the latest thing is purposely choosing and wearing masks that offer NO protection whatsoever, such as ones made of lace, crocheted yarn, or even hardware cloth, and then proclaiming, “See? It was about compliance, not protection!” when people don’t immediately call them on their bullshit mask, when in reality it’s more likely they just didn’t want to deal with the bullshit of trying to get them to wear an effective one. Or worse, didn’t want to run the risk of being assaulted and possibly killed by a sociopath.

Again: if you have a medical condition that actually DOES preclude the wearing of a face mask, then your condition must be one that would preclude you from going out in public anyway, mask or not.

They already have in Canada.

You literally cannot find Mountain Dew in stores anymore, which sucks for me, an avid Diet Mountain Dew drinker.

I sincerely hope that vanilla Diet Coke is not considered to be a speciality drink. When I say vanilla in this sense, I mean the standard Diet Coke as opposed to vanilla flavoured Diet Coke Extra which is for sure a specialty drink.

It's the number 2 selling soft drink in the world....

I have some bad news for you - the shelves were empty of anything other than base Coke, Diet Coke, or Coke Zero on Saturday.

One thing that keeps pissing me off is those talking about how....
"I read about a guy that had cancer and didn't have long to live, but he got COVID and they counted him as a COVID death! They trying to pad the numbers!"
Dude, do you guys think when you get the flu and it kills you, you are literally dying from the flu all by itself? That's not how this works.

Lots of these types of illnesses, by their nature, hit the hardest on people that are already suffering some other compromised health situation, either due to disease, age, injury, etc. The flu (or in this case, COVID) can greatly increase chances of death for those people, and thus, yes, it's going to be counted if the COVID pushed the person into the red with their original illness. If I have an illness that gives me brittle bones and some bozo slams into my car at a hundred mile per hour, shattering me to splinters and blood, they are still going to consider my death by "car accident."

The logic of these people drive me crazy.

In Belgium, we even counted people who didn't have covid but weren't /couldn't be helped due to hospital crowding or absence of available doctors or the like.
It's one of many reasons why our numbers are so high, comparatively.

Well, according to a gross twitter post, Trump may have finally figured out that his base is the one dying from not wearing masks.
