I’m not looking that shit up. Otherwise, I saw that Haaland signed a huge deal with Man City. 9.5 years.

If I knew right where you lived I’d drive over and give you a hug in person. This is something we all have to deal with, and nobody should have to face it alone. Virtual hugs just can’t convey enough.

If he does, make sure to introduce him to Broadway traffic. He’ll get back home and realize that Omaha traffic isn't that bad.

The Random Crap Thread 2: It Hits the Fan.

I would describe Houston as the opposite of Dallas, not in things to do, but the city as a whole. Dallas has tended, as a whole, toward building roads and then filling in around the roads and having a city-wide plan on zoning. Houston built all the stuff, said to hell with zoning ordinances and...

The EPIC WIN Thread 3: SON OF EPIC

Epic for me: my in-laws gave my wife and I a 28” Blackstone Griddle for Christmas. Got it all put together and the cooking surface prepped to start cooking on it.

It’s only 20 days here in the states before the next federal holiday. July through August is the longest, and around here it’s usually dang hot too.

[Rant] Minor Rant III: For a Few Hollers More

Part of it is just practice. Nobody is an expert the first time they do something. We all have learning curves that the first times that we try to do something. The first few times I was trying to talk to a group of students, I stank at it. I wasn’t good at seeing how they were reacting to the...

I haven’t check availability up there in a Auckland, but there is a whole free streaming app called Pluto TV here that has channels devoted to old sitcoms, westerns, Star Trek, and they had one for Dr Who too.

[Movies] The DC Cinematic Universe - The David Zazlav Dumpster Fire.

I guess that my worry in more about the suits at WB screwing it up than Gunn’s ability. I know they promised to let him do his thing, but Supes has more history and expectation with him than the Guardians did. I really do want it to be good. DC tells a different type of story than Marvel/MCU does.

That last one about a jacket always set me on edge. I don’t feel the cold like you do mom. I wear shorts when the temps are in the teens Fahrenheit, I’m fine the way I chose to dress.

The EPIC WIN Thread 3: SON OF EPIC

Sorry Cog, but the southerner came out to me in your post. I am happy you have an actual desk again, I hate that it’s taken so long to get that for you. In the backwaters of the southern US, drawers is a slang term for underwear and that’s exactly where my 12-year-old kids brain went for me...

I’m on a different wavelength than everyone else I guess. I want it to be good, I really do, but I’m not sold yet. The nostalgia is strong in the teaser, but that’s not going to sell a movie to me. Again, I want this to be good.

She embraced the wacky mess of her life, all of it. The first words I heard Carrie Fisher say in person, outside of polite hellos and such, was “I gotta piss and I need a cigarette.” It was a glorious moment of watching a bunch of fanboys having their illusions shattered.

    "What are you reading?" thread.

I’ve been reading The Mercy of Gods by James SA Corey. It’s looks like a good start to another great series. Humanity has expanded to other planets, planet they are on is targeted by a sorta borg-like race and adventures are happening.
