Cricket!?

Yeah, why not. It's live sports at weird hours of the day. Gotta take what you can get.

Reading the BBC web feed this morning is not making my cardiologist any favors. Salt upon salt upon salt. If I were an England fan, I'd be tempted to chuck the laptop off of a bridge right about now. That should tell you how things are going for the visitors. As if the first day, first ball wicket hadn't set the tone enough already.

I won't pretend that I know anything about cricket, but it's fun to learn how to make sense of things as it goes along.

Six balls to an over, goal is to score runs with the other batter until either all are out or you score more than the other team. Hit it over the boundary on a fly for a six. Don’t get stumped or run out, and definitely don’t get caught out by the silly mid off.

It was bad at the close of play last night. By the time I woke up, it was all over. England lasted only 80 minutes.

They'll play the final two Tests, but the Ashes is over. Australia wins.
