DAMN. Mexico: Land of sandy beaches and beheadings. Somehow that ain't going to work on a TV ad.

We have got to find a way to reduce demand for illegal narcotics. Otherwise things like this will continue.

I listened to a debate awhile ago on NPR about where real problem lies, Mexico or the US and it just sounded like it's such a huge flustercluck that no one knows how to fix it.

I'd say that the US is the primary problem (what with demand and our asinine drug laws), while Mexico's structural problems have horrifically exacerbated the secondary symptoms (Mexican cartel leaders living like warlords in Mexico).

I just wonder how long it will take for us to commit to a Black Jack Pershing style punitive action in Mexico.

It happened with gangs and the mafia during prohibition, and it's happening now too. Just fucking legalize it already.

I hate to say it, but I doubt that 20 year old coed just named police chief in a Mexican border town survives a month.

Or, equally sad in a different way, he may go on to live a happy and problem-free life, all the while making a buck or two on the side.
