Former President and Convicted Felon Trump Thread

In horrifying news that won't surprise anyone:

Top US general rejected Trump suggestions military should 'crack skulls' during protests last year, new book claims

"Well, shoot them in the leg—or maybe the foot," Trump said. "But be hard on them!"

Trump still stoking the fire. Came out after Giuliani lost his license to once again say the election was totally stolen and ended the message with the quote "Take America Back".

How many people is this loser going to get killed before he shuts the hell up?

What percentage of covid deaths would you place at his feet? Even president Fauci couldn't have saved everyone.
But yeah, I'm tempted to say, hundreds more to come.

I can’t find a link, but a recent study suggested that the US death toll from COVID-19 would have topped out between 100k and 150k if the government had a consistent, science-based plan and message.

Sounds about right to me, so I’m going to say at least 400k American deaths are directly a result of Trump’s failures.

Or, to put it another way, at a minimum, Trump’s failures directly caused or materially contributed to the death of 1 out of every 825 Americans.

Tonight I found out Trump had a new rally in Ohio. I only learned about it because a single person had to blab to me. It was not in the news, it was not trending with my friends, it was not really being talked about by anyone I follow.

I like this.

Of course it would be better if just never had a rally again, but hey, baby steps.

Not even Fox showed? Fucking lol.
From what I heard, the only other network there was C-Span.

It's also funny because it was not done in a large stadium or event center, but instead out in the middle of nowhere in a field. It was like they couldn't lock down an actual venue or didn't want to pay for it, so they just paid some farmer to use his land for a afternoon.

It definitely feels like some of the magic is wearing off on him. At the rally in Ohio someone decided to record the crowd and part way through his speech large swaths of people started leaving. You can only listen to a band play the same greatest hits over and over again before it starts to get old, and that rally was pretty much just him complaining about all the same things he did up until he left the White House.

My prediction has been that Donald Trump will not spend one second in jail. That continues to be my prediction.
He's old and frail and shouldn't have to endure those conditions. Give him house arrest, so he can continue to receive visitors like the mafia Don he is... Err, I mean, meet with family and friends in the autumn of his life, the poor persecuted and unfairly hated man.

I wish I could find it but I read an article last week that said it's in everyone's best interest if we just stop listening to him and let him disappear. Prosecuting him turns him into a martyr and has no positive outcomes for either democrats or republicans. No, I don't agree with that, but that's getting to be the prevailing view in Washington.

It's funny anyone thinks DeSantis would allow him to be extradited to New York even if they put a warrant out for him. This is probably why he decided to move to Florida in the first place, because he knew the presidency had a high chance to revealing some major skeletons.

Isn't that what everyone said as soon as he left office? That he would run to Florida or even Russia to escape New York state charges?

If that were to actually happen, it would destroy any chance of a campaign run in 2024. He couldn’t just skip New York, he’d have to skip any state with a Democratic governor (and at least some Republican ones).

He already considers himself the President-In-Exile, he will just say the "Witch Hunt" in New York is just proof he is being persecuted. He would only travel to safe states or just stay in Florida after that.

As another aside, Trump hated the Presidency. He never expected to become President and thought just running would get him a awesome contract on Cable TV or some shit after he lost. When he was actually elected, he spent as much time as possible avoiding the work, just playing golf and having rallies to sate his ego, maybe going into the office at like 2PM if he felt like it. He let all his cabinet and aids do the actual "policy" and shit while he tweeted on the toilet to all his twitter followers about how hard he works.

If he was told he had a zero percent chance of winning, he would run anyways, because it's another year of grifting millions of dollars of campaign funds from his supporters. Once the election is over he can just once again claim the election was rigged and he actually won, then go home and play golf knowing his offshore accounts are nice and stuffed while all his supporters get poorer and more desperate. That is what a con-man does.

That he would leave NY, sure, and that he might seek haven with Putin. But I had not heard it suggested that the reason he would go to FL was because that would put him under DeSantis' wing.
