[Announcement] I often see these on internet nostalgia lists... (Crispy M&Ms)

Chocolate that has ingredients like animal fats or alcohol is haram. If alcohol is used to clean the machinery that makes the chocolate bars, then that chocolate is also considered unfit for consumption for Muslims. If the glue used in the packaging is derived from animal fats, that also makes the chocolate haram. For chocolate to be classified as halal chocolate, not only must it not contain unlawful ingredients, but it cannot be processed or stored or transported in ways or facilities that are haram.
Basically, the only way it wouldn't be halal is if they used alcohol to clean the machines, used an alcohol derivative to flavor the chocolate (and Hershey doesn't for their dark chocolate), used an animal fat derivative to bind the rice coating to the chocolate, or they somehow violated it in shipping or packaging.

A lot of halal stuff is halal on basis of it not including gelatin, pork, or alcohol. There is also an interesting debate on halal and kosher meats, in that an animal has to be slaughtered in such a way that it would be considered inhumane... which is why it's illegal in parks of Europe.

The PARKS of europe. What kind of backwards ass socialist paradise slaughters their meat all halal like in the park!

Whoooo crispy M&M's!
Booooo turning it into a serious discussion about Muslim eating habits..

Seriously though, if you've never had them, you should at least try them. Not necessarily because of the taste, but because it's fun to eat crispy things :p

I'm just glad they brought back Surge. Coca Cola tested it in my school district, passing it out all the time for free to middle and high school students.

I remember crispy M&Ms, but I don't remember it being malted. I remember it just being rather flavorless crunch. It doesn't seem like crispy M&Ms were long enough ago to qualify for nostalgia.

They're like someone took Nestle's Crunch bars, attacked them with a tiny melon baller, and then coated them in candy.

Meh.

Peanut butter M&Ms, on the other hand...

I remember the center being more like a rice krispie, but I only had them once a while ago, so my memory could be wrong.
That was also my recollection.

Peanut Butter M&Ms, though? I will buy them every damn chance I get, because they're hard to find.

My wife likes Red Velvet Cake M&Ms, but I have never seen them in a physical store.
(Again) I've seen them in Target, but usually around Valentine's Day.

I'm starting to think my local Target is the convergence site for all flavors of M&M's. I just walked past a huge display with every flavor available a few days ago. Maybe I should start stocking up for fellow Haforumite requests?

It's weird, I'd think they'd have better availability around here, since M&M has a plant near Hackettstown (about 30ish miles away)
