Ninjak vs the Valiant Universe

So Valiant Entertainment, makers of some very good comics, is co-producing a live action web series alongside Bat in the Sun. The cast is pretty no-name, Michael Rowe (Deadshot from Arrow) playing the titular character, and Jason David Frank (Tommy from Power Rangers) as Bloodshot probably being the biggest names. Having said that I'm excited and think it's interesting for a couple of reasons.

The first being that it's a web first series which is a great way to get their stuff out there now. It's really cool to see them not just going the traditional route with things because "that's the way it's done." Apparently this came about because Valiant looked at how important the old Saturday morning cartoons were for the big two for growing and developing an audience. Obviously that demographic is no longer watching cartoons on Saturday mornings so they looked to where they went.

The other reason is because of how good it looks for something that is clearly pretty low budget. Take a look:

Not only are they nailing the look of Ninjak, they're really throwing in a very large chunk of the rest of the Valiant Universe and seem wonderfully unapologetic about it.
