Next year, NASA is set to launch a solar sail based spacecraft with the largest sail ever deployed in space. It will have a sail area of 13,000 square feet (1,208 square meters). The spacecraft is called Sunjammer, a name taken from the classic Arthur C. Clarke novelette. More information on the space mission is available here.
