Pirates had only four road series wins all of last year. Two out of two so far this year. Could the long national nightmare finally be over?

Hopefully the Pirates won't be the shittiest team in the National League anymore, though they and the Mets sure like to make it close.

whew, I was worried the Pirates ownership might actually need to put some money into the team instead of having a team payroll smaller than a AAA club and relying on the knowledge of the Pirates fans being suckers loyal.

Fool me once, shame on me. Fool me eighteen times...

The Astros won a game, The Astros won a game, The Astros won a game, The Astros won a game, The Astros won a game, The Astros won a game...

Yankees haven't swept a series yet, but have managed to win both of them with a record of 4-2. Now they go into a weekend series against the 0-6 Red Sox. This should be interesting.

Oh I forgot to mention the Rays are also winless at 0-6 and Orioles are 5-1 and currently on top of the AL East. :aaah:

mmmmm, mariners are chilling at the bottom...of both leagues. feels like familiarity. natsukasii

It's the 4th of July. The Pittsburgh Pirates are a game and a half out of first place. Joel Hanrahan is an All-Star on merit, not because the Pirates have to send somebody. Kevin Correia has been added, and Andrew McCutchen will surely be a last-second add because of all the media frothing on his snub. Potentially 3 all-stars from the Pirates.

TankMcNamara is right. This is the Sportspocalypse. I'm okay with that. Raise the Jolly Roger!

Derek Jeter is at 2996. He has 4 games to get 4 hits, in order to be the quickest to reach 3,000 career regular season hits, and he hits .370 against the Indians.

The Yankees are 1.5 games ahead of Boston, and are second only to the Phillies overall. The Twins are not quite the worst team in baseball, considerably ahead of the Astros and only slightly behind the laughably bad Cubs.

but based on everything coming out of Bristol, Jeter's a bum who went hitless (because nobody ever goes hitless in a baseball game) in his first game after being on the 15 day DL and missing 18 games. Clearly the man should be 9th in the lineup or just pulled.

If you turn off Cowherd, 80% of the manure shoveled out of ESPN disappears immediately.

For that matter, turn off ESPN, at least as far as baseball's concerned. Joe Buck and Tim McCarver are the commentary equivalent of spam and elmer's glue, and I doubt they have 120 uncontested IQ points between them.

I don't see what Fox's baseball team has to do with ESPN but eh.

I hate the herd. That show is just complete and utter trash. Unfortunately it's the only thing on the radio when I drive in to work after getting out of class. It's that or Glen Beck.

Often I drive to work in silence.
