Space stuff (NASA, UKSA, CSA, ESA, etc)

Apparently, the Falcon 9 second stage from the Mar 4 Starlink launch failed to make a deorbit burn and is now reentering after 22 days in orbit. Sure is pretty though.

The Ingenuity helicopter has successfully completed its historic flight on Mars and safely landed back on the surface, according to NASA.

Ingenuity, which is a technology demonstration, flew for about 40 seconds total on Monday. The 4-pound helicopter spun up its two 4-foot blades, rose up 10 feet (3 meters) in the air, hovered, took a photo, and touched back down on Mars.
Ingenuity could fly up to four more times over the coming weeks.

The helicopter's navigation camera captured a view of the Ingenuity's shadow on the Martian surface during its first flight.

this core stage is now also in orbit and is likely to make an uncontrolled reentry over the next days or week as growing interaction with the atmosphere drags it to Earth. If so, it will be one of the largest instances of uncontrolled reentry of a spacecraft and could potentially land on an inhabited area.
So for the next day or so, maybe you're going to want to do like they say at the end of Star Gazers, and "...keep looking up."

SpaceX Crew Dragon makes 1st nighttime splashdown with US astronauts since Apollo era

A SpaceX Dragon capsule carrying four astronauts returned to Earth early Sunday (May 2) with an ocean splashdown off the Florida coast, successfully completing the company's first full-fledged crewed mission to the International Space Station.

The astronauts of SpaceX's Crew-1 mission for NASA splashed down safely in the Gulf of Mexico near Panama City at 2:56 a.m. EDT (0656 GMT), with a recovery ship swiftly retrieving their Crew Dragon capsule from the sea. The spacecraft landed on target, marking the first nighttime splashdown of a U.S. crewed flight in 53 years. The last was NASA's Apollo 8 moon mission on Dec. 27, 1968. (Space.com)

I like ketchup on hot dogs. Fucking sue me. But I think ketchup is unfairly maligned. Shit is like the basis for half the best sauces.

I'm definitely not in the "ketchup goes on everything" crowd, but a hot dog is one of those things where I do like it. Ketchup, mustard, onion, maybe some sauerkraut or white cabbage.

hot dogs, fries, and crispy hashbrowns are about all I put it on.

And about half the time, I do malt vinegar and mayo instead of ketchup on fries.

I like ketchup well enough, just not on hot dogs...in a bun.
If you serve 'em "gourmet style" (naked and on a plate), then yes, I will slice 'em up and happily dip the hot dog "coins" in a side of ketchup.

That's beyond obnoxious.
I mean, isn't it straight up socialism to support a company that's struggling? Let 'm go broke! Or, you know, have to spend half a day's wages to prop up their company, whichever.
