Microsoft designed its retail stores to be cool like Apple's. It didn't work.

I did not know that they existed.

I knew they existed mainly because I was invited by someone to apply there not that long after I got my MCSA.
At that time, they were still getting established, so they were offering generous incentives to come onboard. But the only one near me was too far away for me to consider it, so I had to decline.
