The place to discuss all things movie related. You like Bay? That’s okay. You like a Knight? That’s alright. You like the 86’ movie? You have good taste.

The first Michael Bay film will always be a guilty pleasure of mine. The opening scene with Blackout is epic and perfectly began the Transformers film series. I still get goosebumps when Barricade chases Bumblebee. And the scenes with Scorponok and Frenzy are all thrilling and well done.

There are some great scenes in that film overall so it is a shame that there is also a lot of groan-worthy material in the film. The humans should not have been played for the comedy. The Witwicky's as a whole are frustratingly painful to watch and John Turturro is the ultimate "I don't know what I'm doing, why am I even an agent?" secret agent (which is bad).

As it stands, weighing the good vs the bad, the film comes in as an enjoyable waste of a couple of hours.

In fact it's almost completely worth watching just for this scene.

I remember living in Bermuda when the second film was released, 8 weeks of sold out nights, and since there were no advanced sales or online reservations, I had to take a one hour bus ride after work into the city if I wanted to take the chance on getting a ticket. I tried four times before I gave up and waited until I flew back to the US on a holiday to rent it.

That's crazy.

My favorite review of the first Transformers movie talks about Megan Fox.

"With Fox you get the looks of a professional porn star and the acting abilities of an amateur one."

I've always thought that was hilarious.

Honestly, the only two Transformers movies I liked was the animated one in the 80s and Bumblebee.

The Bayformers had too many issues for me to enjoy them. Unnecessarily long running times, special effects fight scenes that looked like two blobs of CG mashing up against each other, a lot of Bay's more problematic things like his depictions of racial stereotypes.

Word is there are two new movies in the works. One appears to be a Beast Wars movie.

Beast Wars. Hell. Yes.

Finally watched the Bumblebee movie.
This is the live action movie we should have gotten years ago.

TFN is sharing the ORIGINAL movie script, along with designs based on the first rounds of concept art.

Ultra Magnus looked like Orion Pax, Kup was beefy, and Wheeljack was supposed to live!

Some more characters of the up coming movie are revealed through leaked pictures of the toys. One is one of my favourite characters Wheeljack.

I'm a bit surprised about the head design because the giant glasses don't make me think Wheeljack. Also the mouth looks weird. Optimus Prime's face looks already weird. Maybe it's just an unfinished product and the head is just a mock up to avoid spoilers?

Anyway, I couldn't lose the feeling that he reminded me of something or someone. And then it hit me the giant glasses, the expression, the things that look like suspenders? Don't he look like this guy?

Man...they could have at least kept his glowing side head fins. That's the most Wheeljack characteristic of all.

I don't mind the glasses. They look moveable. But yes, the side fins are one of the characteristics through all versions. Except Transformers Armada.
