I solved today's Redactle (#226) in 55 guesses with an accuracy of 67.27%. Played at https://www.redactle.com/

I did better than I thought I would. I still had no idea what the answer was at around guess 53, then randomly hit upon the answer at 55.
Same I was going the wrong way because some of my first hits were
space related - planet, sun, moon, earth, mars, oxygen, etc.
and then hit a couple that opened it up. I got too focused on one thing and it tripped me up.

I solved today's Redactle (#226) in 761 guesses with an accuracy of 65.7%.
I felt so cheated. I kept getting the twenty- and fifty-dollar words, but I just couldn't get enough of the really useful stuff filled in.
EDIT: Also I know at least 4 of my entries were typos, which probably hurt my accuracy total.

How long did that take you?

Yeah I stopped at 200. I know WHAT it is, I just don’t know the name. I could Google a list of them but holy hell why.

Same, I gave up at around 150 because I know the kind of thing it is, but I don't have enough knowledge of that area to get the specific name.

145 guesses, 29. 66% accurate.
Never heard of it, so once I discovered what sort of thing it was it really came down to finding
names of things surrounding it based on common words - prince, queen, Saint, bay, gulf, straight,.... And then looking on Google maps to see which one fit.

I was also thrown off because
of Canadian spelling. I was convinced there either was a National Parc there, or it was in a Parc... Which it isn't and hasn't, because it has a national park.

Funny story, I actually have something of an intrusive thought, in which I will inexplicably want to enter today's answer into every Redactle I play. Imagine my glee when today's answer was actually the thing I keep wanting to guess.

I would like to preface this by saying that I am generally very bad at Redactle. I haven't figured out how to groove with it and, until now, haven't had any results to post.

That being said...

I solved today's Redactle (#228) in 2 guesses with an accuracy of 100.00%. Played at https://www.redactle.com/

I've sucked at this game, in general. But after hearing everyone's quick times, I had to give it a go.

Generally, I try to look through the text to see if any phrases stand out. Usually, that's a fail, because how many phrases can you make with connecting words and participles? But in this case, "over-and-under" jumped out at me, and I could only think of one word associated with the phrase. And it was used 4 times in the text. So I went for it. Being Texan hath its privileges.

How are you guys getting the nice "I solved today's Redactle..." message? I don't see an option for that, unless maybe it's a mobile thing?

Dammit Dave! I was happy with my score!
I was pretty sure what type of thing I was looking for and even where but I thought it was northern England rather than Scotland for some reason

Whenever I get a score less than 80 assume it was because I got lucky. :D

These were my guesses. You can see how I got lucky that my first guess after zeroing in on the nature of the answer happened to be the right one.

19 kingdom 12
18 united 12

I solved today's Redactle (#230) in 19 guesses with an accuracy of 68.42%.

I assume it was cheating to use google to get information, though.

I was never going to remember the name of the article, even though I had the description. If I can't remember a proper name, I'm going to google, rather than torture myself.

currently haven't solved it yet, I've got the second word but not the first yet. But my beginning was as hard as yours, I think I had a spell of 20 zerohitters in a row...

I got SUPER lucky with mine.

I solved today's Redactle (#231) in 21 guesses with an accuracy of 47.62%. Played at https://www.redactle.com/

My first word was "light" and that got only 1 hit, but that hit was "light-[blank]". I did year first and then years and years was it. That told me it was a space thing. I immediately tried "solar" thinking it might be solar system. I then typed in "galaxy" and voila. The rest of my guesses were trying to remember what kind of fucking galaxies there were! So 5 guesses to galaxy and 16 to get the right type.
