Zach is in the Army Now (formerly who is from Georgia)

I think I'm 90ish miles from Fort Benning, I'm still Carrollton-based. I have an empty bedroom and a "couch" made out of 3 twin mattresses, so there's space to crash if you need it :p

I'll cook for any forumite who comes to visit me... except you. *fistshake*
Aww, it was just a joke! That I made... *looks* Wait, that was in September?? I barely even remember that post. I thought that was from like a year or two ago.

Damn.

I may take you up on this. But you understand it wouldn't be just me, but also my wife and daughter.

My S.O. says that as long as you don't mind the somewhat spartan lodging, and there being a cat, you're welcome to stay :)
Well, I talked to my wife...and she's so not for it. She's the paranoid, "everyone wants to kill us in our sleep" kind of person. I'm a small town "trust everyone until they prove otherwise" kind of guy. Somewhere in the middle is the right amount of caution.

Can't blame her, I *am* a creepy spaniard. @Baerdog and @moss can probably vouch for my non-serial-murdererness, though, since we've met IRL (Baerdog particularly, since he crashed back home for two-ish weeks).

@Denbrought would at least have the decency to kill you while you're awake.

Village People.

But to continue on with Zach information...

Turns out there are two dates when I'll be traveling to Georgia. One is for Family Day and that will be the weekend of March 7 and the other will be the weekend of April 23 for his actual graduation. I get to make the 16 hour drive 4 times. And get a rental car twice. And book hotels twice.

So now the planning begins. There's no problem with my work, but there might be for my wife's and daughter's. Gonna be an interesting couple of months, but at the end we'll be able to bring him home with us until he has to go to his PDS (permanent duty station).

Oh my GOD that would be wonderful! Money is going to be extremely tight for both of these. I may have to have someone jump in and contribute to the April Halforums payment. But that's a bit away. I'll probably be giving plasma by the time this is over.

Just so long as it's intentional...

If you get me exact dates, I might be able to see what I can do about getting you a discounted hotel room...
What can you tell me about Phenix City? (And yes, that's how they spell it.)[DOUBLEPOST=1389653317,1389653206][/DOUBLEPOST]We're looking at staying on the following dates:

March 6 - 9: Family Day

April 22 - 24: Graduation

Looking to not be in a militarized zone (pun not intended) but still not the Rit$.

I work for the International Hotel Group chain in my off-duty gig, so I will see what I can get into for you there - probably be a Hampton Inn or Holiday Inn Express, something along those lines. I work there tomorrow night, so I'll have a chat with the night auditor and see what's available.

They change how they do reservations on the employee ticket from time to time, so you might have to make the reservation first, and get discounted later. I'll let you know...

The Village People's music was so lighthearted it was almost Muppet-like already. Really it's a natural fit.
