Good Cosplay Thread - pt3 - The Pros of Cons

So not being complimentary enough is now considered a rude comment? Gimme a break. All fade said was he didn't think Belle Chere was so good looking to warrant all the slobbering, not that she is wholly lacking in comeliness.

Do you want to turn this into a thread where comments are nothing but sucking up to the vanity of cosplayers? Come on.
Fade said, and I quote, "She's got a decent body, but her face isn't all that." Without tone of voice or other indications it's hard to say if that's rude or not, and I did not say it was rude. I merely reminded readers of this thread that comments may be read by the person they're talking about. Personally I wouldn't say something like that to a person's face, and if someone did, and was serious, I would consider it rude.

Also, there are many ways to politely comment on cosplay without it being sucking-up. It's completely possible to criticize the cosplay without having to insult the cosplayer's own body. It's also possible to be more tactful when saying your preferences in physical attraction are not found in a particular person.

Look, I probably wouldn't make unsolicited comments to another person's face either, but then I'm not putting pictures of myself up on the internet where anybody can see them. Cosplayers want attention, and you gotta take the good with the bad. I assume the hardcore cosplayers understand that (and from what I understand, cosplayers aren't exactly kind to their own). Also, it's not like fade's comments came from nowhere. This thread is full of posts about Belle Chere and how freaking hot people think she is. In response, fade merely asked what people saw in her, along with explanations behind his question. I really don't see anything wrong with that.

Fair enough regarding the sucking up, but again I don't think what fade said was insulting. Yes, lacking in tact, but since when is a little brusqueness now considered an insult? Perhaps it's just that I have no problem with people being bluntly honest, but if such mild opinions end up hurting people's feelings, I'm not exactly going to give a shit.

Fade's got every right to say what he did, but so do others have a right to disagree. I think as long as that discussion doesn't become the focus of the thread, it's fine. So, let's agree to disagree, and move on.

Accepted. That's some type of character from FFXI, right? (Squeenix loves those triangle patterns)
That is Cattleya from Queen's Blade (note: do not watch Queen's Blade). Here are some more pics.

Can't get enough? Here's a link. You're welcome.

Perhaps it goes without saying, but just in case, link NSFW

That's Jane Jetson, not Judy Jetson. Judy had sleeker, red clothes and slick white hair. Jane had the purple dress.
