Yup. The only repping you're allowed to do is positive repping. The negative rep option was put there by accident.

It can be used that way. I don't think it is all passive-aggressive, but I sure didn't see anyone publicly calling me out in the thread. Anonymously though, I totally deserved it. Then again, I don't take it seriously at all. I think it's funny as hell.

If someone just doesnt agree with the post or doesnt like it and neg reps it that is one thing. But it becomes passive aggressive when it is a "no you" or, please forgive me for saying this, ad hominem. If you dont like a post fine but dont make an argument about something in a rep because the person is unable to argue back.

This is a perfect example of negative rep that is NOT passive-aggressive. I know who gave it to me and I can respond if I so choose. Again, I don't take this rep thing seriously. It doesn't affect my life in the least. I appreciate your feedback and that you're not hiding behind the mask of anonymity. Thanks.

Why should people have to sign their negative reps any more than they have to sign positive ones? Even with a comment, it doesn't matter who said it. If it's relevant to a thread and worth talking about in that thread, just quote it and say your peace. If it isn't relevant or worth talking about to the forum in general, then just ignore it.

You guys are getting too worked up. People can sign their comments if they want to, or NOT. If anyone feels a comment is hurtful, they can ask a Mod to take a look at it.
