What keeps you up at night?

"Eleven plus two" has the exact same letters as "Twelve plus one".

Vain attempts to count the stipples in my ceiling.

Edit: I'm fucking retarded.

Sex. If not sex, the hard-on I can't get rid of, sleeping up against her, till I finally pass out.

A four week old infant. And last night a toddler with an ear infection and a fever of 103.8F.

haha, just kidding. They kept my wife up.

So.... nothing keeps me up at night.

I sleep like a baby. That sleeps all night.

A snoring husband, a nearly 2-year-old who cries in her sleep a few times a week, the house being too quiet, feeling too hot, and constant worry.

Dreaming I'm having my dick bit off. That one worked really well keeping me awake.

Dreading court is the second big one. Fuck do I dread court days.

Leg cramps.
Oh, almost forgot what used to keep me up. Leg cramps are so much better than an undiagnosed fungal infection in my lungs. Before treatment, I wasn't actually sleeping, even when I was unconscious. My doctor says that my system was so depleted that if I'd actually gone into a deep sleep I might not have woken up again.

Anything at all. Any little noise. My dog's breathing. Too many thoughts going through my already over-crowded brain.
I must take either a melatonin, or Advil PM in order to get to sleep.

Staying asleep is a different story altogether....

Lately, I'm feeling stressed because I want to start this comic for the forum..I have had a few mnoths and I only have three pages drawn.

Why? It's not because I'm lazy. It's because I kept scrapped the 10 pages I originally drew because I hated them.

Reddit. Dragon Age Origins. Any book close at hand. The awesome videos thread. Porn. Knowing that when I get to work, I will more likely than not have nothing to do. But hey, I quit playing WoW, so that's one thing off the list.

Troubling thoughts or the fellow's snoring... or waking up really hot. I'm incredibly warm-natured, but I also have to have a heavy blanket on top of me when I sleep. It's a security thing I've never been able to get over. Hence, I wake up 2-3 times a night to wash my face.

The crushing realization that we amount to nothing on this little dirt ball orbiting an unremarkable yellow star in the vast emptiness of the cosmos. A meteor could come along and utterly destroy us and the universe would not even take notice. Everything would continue on as it had before. There would be no pause to mourn a lost race. All of our art and beauty and grace would be wiped away in the blink of a cosmic eye and no one would care.

Which is why I usually watch tv until I fall asleep.

I have to have a heavy blanket too. I usually end up kicking it off during the night, but it's hard to fall asleep without one.
For me it's usually unanswered questions. I tend to obsess about them, and I can't shut my brain off. So I end up tossing and turning for hours.

It warms my heart that this thread has gone this far without the response of "Your Mom."

Stargazing and sharp elbows from my wife keep me up at night.
