So we don't have to scroll through the other thread looking for all the entries, this thread will be dedicated to submitting, discussing, and asking about everyone's work.

To keep the thread from getting too cluttered or derailing, I ask that we ONLY use this thread for entry related posts.

After all the entries have been submitted, you will choose your top 3 favorites, the ones you feel deserve to win, and rank them first, second, and third. First place gets 3 points, second gets 2, and third gets 1. You will send a PM through conversation to me , The Judge , and Dave will count up the votes when voting has closed. The person with the greatest total at the end of it all wins!

I guess I'll get this started. I'm not going to get any more done on this before the 7th so I may as well enter it. This is way less than I was hoping to accomplish but my drawing skills can't quite match up with my imagination. This was originally going to be a group shot of Jay, Scytherex, Ravenpoe, Frank and my main multiplayer characters from Mass Effect 3 but due to sickness, incompetence and procrastination I only got Jay's Asari Adept semi-completed. I'm not happy with my linework and I really need a better scanner to show the shading better (it's really grainy... I swear it looks much better on paper).

Anyhow... that's it, I hope you like it... it's my first colorization too so that was an interesting learning process. I will likely start a thread in the Artist forum chronicling the continued progress on this as I do want to finish my main idea.

Came up with this character - Inq. She's got the ability to create solid, animated creatures from the ink in her tattoos. Each monster is tethered, and her ability is limited only by the images printed on her skin.

Comments: I wanted to do something very different from my usual style. I decided a) pop art, and b) stencil. I kept fuzzy edges on the stenciled stuff to try to give it a Bansky-like softness. Also, I'm not really doing two categories, but I liked the literal idea enough to use it here.

Subject: Hot girls, superheroes and monsters

Title: Lady Cult

Comments: For my gallery show I painted a picture of a Lovecraft based super heroine for shits and giggles. When this contest came up I spent a month wracking my brian over what I should do...only to realize I already had painted a picture about my preferred subject! I'm not a cheater though so I decided to do a new picture AND experiment with some stuff I had lying about. I used tubed water colours for this with oils pasters and a bit or sharpy. I wanted a dark, watery look.

I like the results so much that I may actually frame it!

Following the Mass Effect trend here:



I call it Paragon Choice.

Topic: I Heart Video Games (or Monsters, Babes and Superheroes, depending on your point of view ;))

So Mass Effect 2 is one of my favourite games of all time, and the relationship between Shepard and Liara is one of the most real relationships I've EVER seen in a game. Now I haven't finished ME3 yet (drawing this made me wanna go back to it) but even in Mass Effect 2 I vowed to remain faithful to Liara because it seemed more like the right thing to do, and actually strengthened the relationship they had after saving the galaxy from Sovereign a couple years earlier.

Anyway, I used a couple references for this, and made a couple different sketch layers wich I decided to keep at full opacity in the final piece. Makes it look sketchier overall, which is an effect I like overall in my drawings.

Fuuuuck no time to color. Still, I like how it turned out. Monsters, Hot Chicks, Superheroes.

I just noticed people are leaving comments about their work, so I thought I'd do the same. My original idea was an Old West steampunk zombie hunter. While thinking up design choices, it evolved into this. The lady is wearing a (loosely interpreted) Korean hanbok, and she's wielding a woldo, very similar to the Chinese gaun dao (the weapon is what actually led me to go with the Korean theme). The animal she's riding is a haetae (mr_thehun might recognize it as a xiezhi), a creature common to both Korean and Chinese mythology, that symbolizes justice.

Also, sorry about the compression artifacts; I'm gonna blame that on imgur since the original .png is fine. Updated to link to cleaner version

I think there should be no one feeling bad about how many votes they get, because honestly everyone is in contention for my votes, and it's excruciating to try to just pick three.. What have I doneeee
