A solemn thank you to the vets on the board. You've given in ways I can only imagine, and poorly (the imagining) at that.

While I'm not part of the march this morning, I will be in attendance in full serge. I salute you.

I bow humbly to all the vets out there. Regardless of our ideological differences we have on this board, it is people like you that gave us the freedom to voice it. I thank you.

We have the rights and privledges to talk about this in public forums because of the great men and women who fought (and continue to fight) for those rights.

Thank you, veterans (and active duty members, of course) for all that you've given and will continue to give.

In Flanders Fields

In Flanders Fields the poppies blow
Between the crosses, row on row,
That mark our place; and in the sky
The larks, still bravely singing, fly
Scarce heard amid the guns below.
We are the Dead, Short days ago
We lived, felt dawn, saw sunset glow,
Loved and were loved, and now we lie
In Flanders Fields.

Take up your quarrel with the foe;
To you from failing hands we throw
The torch; be yours to hold it high,
If ye break faith with us who die
We shall not sleep, though poppies grow
In Flanders Fields.
