This isn't a self-made garage album on a CD-R. It's was recorded and mixed at Audio Dallas by Paul Osborn--he's mixed and recorded about 25 gold and platinum albums, and mastered and pressed at DES Mastering. I'm pretty proud of it :)

Wow. You really are a master whistler of tin.

If you take song suggestions, might I recommend giving the Sailor's Hornpipe a try?

Yeah, the fiddler players in our band play it.

It's the popeye theme song.

Unless, of course, you mean the REAL sailor's hornpipe. The REAL sailor's hornpipe is not the popeye theme song (which is more properly named the College Hornpipe)
I do mean the real Sailor's Hornpipe. Personally, I quite like it.

Tin, are there any resources you would recommend for learning to play a whistle of some sort? A lot of Newfoundland folk music is heavily influenced by Irish folk, and I've been meaning to learn something of the sort for a while now. The accordion is fun, but a bit more difficult to pack up and trek around the world with than a whistle of some sort, I would imagine.

What do I need to know to start off/buy a beginner's instrument, and is there a direction you would point me for learning how to play? We learned recorder in school, and I still have a wooden alto recorder, but we didn't really do much beyond "Hot Cross Buns" and I have no idea how that fits into Newfoundland/Irish folk anyhow.
