It was announced a while ago that Gametap would finally be getting 64-bit support for Windows games, but no timetable was given (emulated titles, like most of their console games already were 64-bit compatible). Finally the first game to use the new 64-bit has been announced. Trine will be coming in late-September / early-October. Awesome! I was on the fence about buying Trine, but I'll definitley play it on Gametap. All the much more-so because I won't have to reboot into 32-bit XP to do so.

Hopefully other games will follow quickly. I'm getting kind of sick of rebooting into XP to play. Also, the new encryption will allow for game mods to be used, among other improvements.

Trine went up on Gametap yesterday, and what an awesome game. The controls too some getting used to, but that's true with most platformers for me.

They're supposed to be adding 64-bit compatability to 2 games, already on Gametap, each week. No indications of which order, but those currently in testing are:
Battlestations: Midway
Beach Life
Civ IV
DNA
Deus Ex
Dracula Origin
Hitman: Contracts
Hitman: Blood Money
Hospital Tycoon
Infernal
Magic Ball 3
Overlord
Prey
Project Snowblind
Rayman 3
Restaurant Empire
Sacred Gold
Shadowgrounds
Stronghold Crusader Extreme
Tomb Raider Anniversary
Tomb Raider Legend
Total Overdose
Turtix

Not long ago I was debating if I wanted to keep my Gametap subscription, because I haven't had easy access to the full library since I subscribed. At first a lot of the newer games wouldn't run on my older PC, and when I finally got a new PC it was a pain to reboot into 32-bit to play. I was still getting my money's worth, but it was a kinda iffy sometimes compared to all the sales on Steam, GOG, D2D, etc.

Now I'm really looking forward to all these games. Trine has been a blast to play in short spurts. I'm not sure I'd love it as much if I couldn't just fire it up at the drop of a hat, and then get right back to other things when I was done.

I quit gametap when they went to the browser based client. The transition was hellish and you could barely ever access the games. I had been a gold subscriber since shortly after the service went live, too.
