The U.S. and European delegations walked out of the U.N. speech by Iran's president after he said most people believe the U.S. was behind the Sept. 11 attacks in order to assure Israel's survival.

I honestly think he's out of his mind. I have serious doubts that the average person in Iran buys that crap, so I really don't know what he thinks to gain.

Iranian will believe what their "president" tells them to believe.
Isn't this the same guy saying that the Holocaust is not real?

You know... it's really sad but I know way to many people who buy into these insane conspiracy ideas.

To be fair, you may be giving the people of Iran short shrift. The protests during the last election don't exactly smack of credulousness on their part.

Yeah, I think the Iranian people know better.

And wow, what an asshole.

He should have a good idea of who carried that out.... since Iran holds the receipts of most payments to international terrorists.

I don't buy the conspiracy B.S. for a second that the U.S. was secretly behind the attacks.

Then again, if it was ever revealed to be true? I honestly wouldn't be surprised.

If it is true, can you imagine the breakdown in the U.S. system? I mean our own government killing their own citizens.

It could lead to civil war (at least that is what I think)

Oh, man. If it was true? Anarchy. Pure and total anarchy. Something akin to the comic book, DMZ, would likely occur. Maybe not all of Manhattan becoming a DMZ, but certainly the civil war aspect.

Someone would make an excuse for why it was necessary. It would all get pushed under the rug until 50 or so years down the road.

On another, more upbeat note- After that lovely speech, Russia decides to not sell those missiles and other arms to Iran, for now... Basically, when Iran says crazy shit, it even makes Russia nervous.

Except that the decree was signed Wednesday, and his speech was Thursday...

Don't mean to undermine the point, though. When even Russia is nervous, you are batshit crazy.
