this looks promising. Graphic is pretty neat.

Why would a free game need a demo?

I'm hoping it's available outside the UK.

I double read it. I didn't see it was free... but it was first of the games. Is it going to be free for all of them?

you know how it is, free to try, and they get you by the balls.

Other sites, like Joystiq have said that all four games will be free, and the announcement on the Dr. Who site says the same. "These four new adventures will take the form of free downloadable computer games available for PC and Mac,"

From the Kotaku article about this, I got the impression that they will all be free.

This makes sense seeing as they are marketing this as actual interactive episodes of the current season, canon status and everything.

**something snarky about the game being cheaply made and graphic effects 20 years behind the times**

It will likely be just like the show.

His name isn't Doctor Who, it's The Doctor.

You Mav wannabe.

Yes, that's what I mean, it's a name, you can't abbreviate it, ergo it's Doctor who, not Dr Who. I never said Who was part of his name, I was correcting the show's title by specifying it can't be abbreviated.

Looks like an interesting concept, trying to get people to gather around a game like they would any other episode. I hope it works out, and I REALLY hope the games are available here in the States.

Technically, Doctor is not really his name. It is Doctor something -------- and they went "who?" and just kinda stuck ;)

At least that is what I remember from the 1st Doctor.

no, Doctor is his "chosen" name, there's been hints that he has another "real" name, but it's been vague. The show's title comes from what most people answer when he says "I'm the Doctor".

Doctor is not a title, it's not something that goes in front of his name, it's like The Master, he's not Master anything, he's just The Master.

I don't remember where it was explicitly stated, but every Time Lord is supposed to have a "secret" name that they don't use beyond a particular point in childhood. Whether this is the same thing as the Time Lords who use proper names instead of functional names (like Rassilon) isn't made clear, afaik.

When I was watching the latest episodes today, I was thinking what a Doctor Who game would be like.

Given his non-violent nature (as far as rarely getting his own hands dirty with guns and such), I think it would have to be an adventure game ala Telltale...or maybe more like Heavy Rain. Actually a Doctor Who game in the style of Heavy Rain would be awesome.

Still, I'm curious. Definitely check it out as more information is released.

OFFICIALLY, It's Doctor DW Who now...

(link to forum I saw it on if it doesn't come through) http://cult.thedigitalfix.co.uk/Content/132/new-doctor-who-logo-revealed.html

nonviolent? The Doc has punched out a android so far this season, and been responsible for hundreds if not thousands of (dalek) deaths!

btw, I found it fascinating that quote "..and then I'll have to find a new name, because I won't be THE DOCTOR anymore!"

(The Master from the Trial of a Time Lord then rings in my ears..)
"...and the Valeyard, or as I've always known him, The Doctor..."
