Got through shooting a short film at my college (University of North Carolina School of the Arts, for those curious). The footage has now been handed over to my editor, whom I'll meet Monday or Tuesday to discuss the cutting of it.

God, it's good to have the stress lifted now.

Did you make sure all of the "actresses" were 18? That can really bite you in the ass... and not just over the scene titled "Biting her on the ass".

Not that sort of film.

Well, sure, I understand you have to label it an "art" film, for legal reasons. ;)

If it WAS that sort of film....you'd tell us, wouldn't ya?

If it were, I might.

The film I shot is called It's Magic. It's about this magician named Anton, once passionate for his craft but now disillusioned and cynical. As he's leaving hiw show, he meets a young boy who has seemingly appeared from nowhere. The young boy is there because he wants to show Anton his magical hat, which Anton thinks is just some cheap trick. As it turns out, the hat is magical, allowing one to reach in and pull out anything if they believe. Anton is skeptical at first, but he is taken aback when he really believes in the hat and tries it, pulling out a lost autograph picture of the magician who had inspired him in the first place. As he stands and examines the hat, he asks the kid where he got it. When he gets no response, he turns to look and discovers the kid has vanished. Keeping the hat (which he finds is a perfect fit) and with his old belief restored, he heads off with improved spirits.

So, is halforums getting a private screening once editing is done?

I'll see if I can, but I can't promise it. Technically, the film is property of the school and can bring up a lawsuit if it's put up on the internet.

Perhaps help from Philip Magnus Mealton would work.

I'll watch a rough cut done by my editor tomorrow. I'll see if I can get a copy of it from her.
