You have to go to page 2 to get to the actual review.

Page 1 is really nothing more than a story about him shooting baboons from a distance while in Africa. Apparently this review is stirring up some controversy.

I never understood doing stuff like that. I hunt, but I don't understand the satisfaction that someone can get out of shooting something from 200+ yards away while sitting in the back of a jeep.

It's a very apt analogy. A food reviewer can kill a restaurant from a distance (newspaper) - and even though a dead restaurant isn't as interesting as a living one, the reviewer must feel some remorse at killing it.

He really attacked the Luxe. The steak was tough and merited only one sentence of derision. Nothing was particularly interesting. The chicken was the only thing worth having, and it wasn't sweet ambrosia, but fairly middle of the road 'good' chicken.

The restaurant layout and ambiance was terrible. The service was poor.

He gave that place both barrels. It slumped over, and while it had many of the hallmarks of a restaurant, once you gazed into its maw you realized just how untamed, wild, and unhuman it was.

The corpse isn't even good for eating except to jaguars.

I thought his writing was very funny, but can't understand why he told the story of the hunting at all if even says it has nothing to do with the restaurant. I mean, his musings on hunting was longer than the actual review.

I'm guessing he was bored and wanted to stir up some shit.
