Yes, this is the right sub-forum. Turns out that one of the victims, Sean Smith, was "Vile Rat" from EvE Online. This dude was probably one of the 10-20 most important people in that game world. He helped manage an alliance of 10-20k players (ironically he was a chief diplomat) and was integral in the development of the community. I recognized his name immediately when I saw it on FARK.
