[Announcement] Albums vs. Media

Okay, so Zappit & I had a conversation tonight about how the front page is bulky and hard to use for his comics. So I have downloaded and added two different things that may or may not work for him...and you.

The two addons are called "Media Gallery" (Media tab) and "User Albums" (User Albums tab). They do essentially the same thing, but in different ways.

• Media Gallery - This addon integrates perfectly with XenForo, creating alerts when comments are left, making the content uploaders aware of likes, etc.
• User Albums - Does not integrate fully with XF. No alerts or anything like that, although it DOES show under each image how many likes, etc.
• Media Gallery - Is not individualized. Each category, unless specified by me, can have anyone enter media. So I made a user group and added Zappit to it. He can add to his category, but ANYBODY can add to the Comics category.
• User Albums - Are just that - individual user albums. Users are masters of their own domain, so to speak. You can make several different albums, each with their own purpose and ONLY YOU can upload to that album, even though others can see it and comment/like.

So I'm going to have Zappit experiment with it a bit and see which one he - and you - like. The other will go bye bye.
