THUNDERCATS

Going to cartoon network hooooooooooooooooooooooo

My question is, do you feel like this is going to rape your childhood, or simply touch it uncomfortably. Like right above it's knee but below the thigh.

I'll need to see some screens or clips before I'll pass my judgment.

Could be cool.

Eh, that new He-Man cartoon was better than the old one. Thundercats was fucking 11 levels of awful. Making a show called Thundercats Babies would be a step up.

Well the voice acting wasn't terrific. Liono always sounded so cheesy. And the animation will probably be better, too.

I never knew why Mum-Rah had to always effin' transform. If he's Mum-Rah THE EVER LIVING why would he always go back to some older dead guy form.

I hope this series addresses that issue.

The new He-Man also got canceled because no one was buying the toys except adult collectors, mainly because they were trying to please the older fans and not the younger ones. Better isn't the same as successful. Knowing the climate today, the show will be very heavily based on Anime designs and have NOTHING to do with the old show. That seems to be the recipe for success.

Come on, the old show was a cheap Anime (Japanimation back in the day) knock off. The Westerners just could not equal the quality of the animation.

Like pretty much everything in the 80's, Thundercats was likely animated by Japanese or Koreans.

I'd bet my next paycheck on that.

They do the grunt work on the Western Designs.

The same company whose employees eventually became Studio Ghibli, in fact.

Hmm, a new series could be a good thing if its done right.

As mentioned the new He-man series was pretty good and the new Turtles series was also done well so it is possible to make a decent cartoon series in this day and age.

The thing that always puzzled me about Thundercats was they fled their dying world (why/how was it destroyed again?) Come to Earth, which is empty, and then live like 5 blocks from Mum-rah, YOU HAVE A WHOLE PLANET, go somewhere else to rebuild your civilization...with only 6 people...and 2 of them children...and no DNA/Genetic researchers...nevermind, just fight Mum-rah til ya all die of old age.

That was earth this whole time?

Was Mum-Rah the last human? Should we have been rooting for Mum-Rah?

Why not? I did back in the day.

Good lord. It was a show designed to sell toys. Why are they reviving it? Old people don't buy nearly as many toys as kids do.

I loved Thundercats as a kid, but just let it go. It sucked harder than that scabbed up hooker on the corner.

That's exactly why the new He-Man series failed. Older Collectors can't support a toy line by themselves without make each figure cost hundreds of dollars... which would keep most of them from buying them.

So were most other shows in the 80's. Didn't stop TMNT, Transformers and GI Joe.
