Next month UC Berkley will begin publishing Mark Twain's Autobiography. I hear it is not a standard "I was born at...." type of biography but a series of anecdotes that he dictated over several years.
This is the most that I've looked forward to a book in years.
It's actually being released in 3 volumes, because it's so damn big. Should be interesting.

I'm looking forward to this, too. I'm ashamed to say I didn't get around to reading his works until last year, but Tom Sawyer quickly became one of my favorite literary characters.
His critique of James Fenimore Cooper's writing is priceless. With the amount of snark in that, I can only imagine what's in the autobiography! Twain is definitely on my "if you could go back in time and meet someone" list.

heh, When I was prepping myself to read those books, I did a little research... and it took me a while to figure out that Natty Bumppo [worst name ever] was the same guy as all those other guys.
Twain had a major "Hate-on" for other successful writers that did not share in his level of talent.
