I'm not sure what to say here, but that is a great idea there in that comic and I would shop at a game store that did that... I... I feel dirty

The minute they mentioned making a store into a MMO the same idea popped into my head. But sadly it isn't quiet as easy as it may sound there would have to be a lot of underlying thing that would have to be done just right. But as far as the comic goes will Ethan be able to resist the temptation to abuse his power against someone who rubs him the wrong way?

I agree that this is an excellent idea! You could even have a store forum where people signing up get exp, etc.

Damn. That's a very good idea.

It sounds like a regular loyalty program to me, more or less.

Lots of stores (just not video game stores) do stuff similar to this already. When you get a store-name credit card or loyalty card, that's very close to what you get, depending on the store.

Sounds like a riff of Chore Wars, but for commerce.

How about if I spend $$$ in your store each year, you kiss my ass and call it ice cream then offer me 25% off list price.

Goddamn, I'd NEVER stop playing "Game Store: The Game"!

But it is all about the packaging. You need to incorporate social networking and a fantastical spin in the comic's proposal.

"Free stuff" from experience points couldn't be that great for the store to stay profitable, and if they aren't that big of a deal, the whole concept might not be as appealing.
I feel like it also might not cater to well to a huge part of videogame demographic that isn't into "experience" or RPGs and the like.

Still sounds dope to me though.
